Iowa CC getting feisty and bossy and Kate fucking the attitude out of her... She's her captain after all
Sorry it took me so long to get this out Anon but I hope this it to your liking. And anyone else's.
Halftime Adjustments
Warnings- 18+ Smut
The buzzer sounded alerting the end of the first half. Hawkeyes were down 19 to an unranked non conference team. CC had gone 1 for 8 in the second quarter and missed 3 free throws in a row. To make matters even worse she was yelling at the refs and barely passing to any open players except for Stuelke who was having her own nightmare defensive matchup.
Kate had to talk her teammates down 3 times already and try to keep Caitlin from launching her water bottle at the coaching staff during a timeout near the end of the first quarter.
The whole team was having an off game but 22’s antics were wearing everybody's nerves thin. Monika did all she could to keep the players on the court focused and let Kate try to work her usual magic with their star point guard but there was only so much she could really say or do in a public setting and stage.
Kate gripped Caitlin's wrist as they jogged back to the guest locker room, the latter trying to tug away but only felt the hold become tighter.
“Let fucking go of me!" Caitlin hissed out.
When the hold didn't drop she ripped her arm away only to have her whole body directed into one of the offices in the back with the blinds pulled tight on both the window and door.
" What the fuck are you doing right now, Kate?!”
Kate’s face remained neutral until the door shut, her eyes blazed and narrowed, brows pinched together with heavy annoyance. She had Caitlin pressed face down over the old metal desk, legs kicked apart, ass a little higher in the air than expected. She had roughly 20 lbs on her but once Caitlin was in rage mode her strength really knew no limits. The movements were happening so fast Kate had taken her teammate off guard, allowing her to grab a hold of her shorts and sport briefs and rip them as far down as they'd go.
" You wanna throw tantrums on the court and yell in people's faces huh? Boss everyone around and act like you're in control hmmm?" Kate plunged two fingers deep inside Caitlin’s surprisingly wet center as she growled in her ear. The office wasn't that far away from where the rest of the team was and she knew she had maybe 3 to 4 more minutes before the coach would be expecting them to be sat with everyone.
Caitlin was trying to pull her shorts back up and knock Kate back when her arm was trapped behind her forcing her back down face first. The force with which Kate pumped into her had her confused at first and then aroused which led to her stopping fighting it. She was drenched from sweat and now her own slick coating her inner thighs and Kate's hand.
Kate pulled out, wrapped her arm around the girl beneath her and went to work on her clit, rubbing tight fast circles. It took barely a  minute and she had her shaking and whimpering and blinking back the white spots from her vision. She fisted her ponytail, yanking her head back far enough so she could look her in the eye while demanding entrance into her mouth with her cum soaked fingers.
Caitlin cleaned them as much as she could while trying to catch her breath and process what exactly had happened and how quickly. They enjoyed the occasional quickie here and there but never in the middle of a game and never like this.
“Now as your captain and leader I expect your attitude to be adjusted. Pull yourself together, fix your hair and be back out at your spot immediately after. Understood?”
Caitlin nodded while still remaining slumped across the desk, she was just regaining control of her breathing.
Barely a minute later Caitlin sat down at her locker, jersey tucked back into her shorts and hair fixed, with no signs of it having been pulled from its normal pony. She mumbled a soft sorry to the group without making eye contact with anyone.
The team went on to win the game with a late 3rd quarter push, 22 leading the way with 21 2nd half points and 7 assists, 4 to her teammate, captain, and girlfriend.

It occurred to me that I've been posting a lot about Kendrick's halftime show without linking the whole thing, which is an unforced error on my part. The Not Like Us part gets a lot of attention, and rightfully so but wow the other stuff is cool too. The scene show is astounding, and the build-up to Not Like Us is powerful. Kendrick knew he had a cultural moment on his hands and he put the work in.

You watched from behind the metal barricade, awaiting the team to step off the bus and into the arena. The Tampa sun felt nice accompanied by the slight breeze. You picked at your fingers anxiously. This was it. One. More. Game. 40 minutes for your girlfriend and the rest of the team to leave it all out on the court. One more game for Paige to solidify her reputation as one of the Uconn greats.
The bus doors opened, and the cheers from the fans in blue picked up as the players started to walk out. Jana, Kaitlyn, and Azzi, then came Paige. Adjusting her ponytail, a poker face adorned her features, you knew the loss to Iowa last year was all the fuel needed for her and the team to bring it home this year. She was locked in, deleting all her social media, staying present, working her body just the right amount, seeing a sports psychiatrist to get her into the right headspace. Nobody wanted this title more than her. You knew her want for the title was more than the entirety of South Carolina’s team alone.
Paige spots you in the crowd, her soul pushing her eyes to find you in every crowd. Her poker face broke a little, her eyes glazing over slightly, bringing her hand up, her thumb, pointer, and pinky finger all going up, signing ‘I love you’.
Signing the same, you watched her walk away. You speed to the mass of people waiting in front of the stairs to get into the arena. Slowly, but surely, you made your way to the security checkpoint of the arena. Spotting Azzi’s family at the bar, you greeted them with hugs, taking a shot to ease your anxiety.
-
The first quarter had ended, Uconn leading 19-14, the Huskies were on fire, playing for themselves, but also playing for the girl they would say goodbye to after this season. You were courtside, watching Geno talking to the girls in between the first and second quarter, the game was still salvageable for the Gamecocks, the arena was scattered with fans from both teams, but the South Carolina fans were anything but quiet, chants of “Go Gamecocks” overbearing the UConn chants at times. Morgan’s eyes peeled away from Geno for a second amidst the South Carolina chant, looking around the arena in awe, snapping back to Geno before you could process the expression on her face.
-
36-26. The score when halftime began. Up 10 points, the girls made everyone aware of their drive, Azzi was playing beautiful basketball, something UConn and South Carolina fans alike could appreciate. Her comeback was nothing short of amazing.
-
The third quarter came and went, 56-42, the drunk man behind you slurring out a, “It’s over, UConn put belt to ass, they’re not coming back from that.” You exhaled, your thoughts were the same, although it felt nice to hear that others felt likewise. One. More. Quarter. One more quarter of Paige being a UConn Husky. One more quarter to put the cherry on top of her generational collegiate career.
-
Paige checked out. For the last time. Striding confidently over to Geno, embracing him and just melting into him. Tears violently left her eyes, soaking Geno’s shoulder with both gratitude and sadness, Geno’s eyes were squeezed shut, never one to want to show emotion, trying to suppress his feelings about a girl he looked at like his daughter accomplishing her dreams. Your mind flew back to Paige’s slam interview, her naive self rambling about wanting to win a national championship during her time at UConn, then wanting to be drafted number one, unaware of the difficulties, mentally, and physically, that she would have to overcome to achieve her goals. She made it. Losing to South Carolina in 2022 was a beautiful sign from God, whether she knew that at the time or not. The obstacles and adversity she had faced were necessary and needed, for her to come back, better, stronger, more faithful. It all came full circle as she pulled Jana in, now beating South Carolina during her last year. The realization made you sob, overwhelmed with pride for your girl. The most resilient person you knew.
-
The final buzzer sounds. 82-59. She did it. Your girlfriend was a national champion. All the nights when she rewatched film with you, picking apart her every play, crying to you about why they just couldn’t seem to win, the echoes of her sobs in your apartment when she told you she felt like she was letting the Uconn name down, trying to find her perfect season. Those days were over. You rushed over to her, pulling her in, locking your arms over her shoulders, her own hugging your waist to ground herself. You heard her choked sobs into your shoulder, your tears flooded her new national championship shirt, the already dark blue becoming a near black.
Through her tears, her broken voice uttered a soft, “It’s really over.” You brought your hand up to her head, stroking her hair and tugging her deeper into your shoulder. “You did it, baby, you’re unreal.”
-
Paige held your hand, trophy in the other as you arrived at the hotel, the automatic doors opening to the room of alumni, the other girls, and families. Clapping emerged from everyone as Paige walked through, you dropped her hand and joined them, applauding her. Blush crept up onto her face at the sight of you, the apples of her cheeks more apparent now. She raises the trophy, yelling out, “NATTY CHAMPS BABYYY” The cheering continued, Diana, hollering out a “WHOOP WHOOP” at her mini-me. Paige sets the trophy down on the table in between the couches, reaching for your finger, she yanks you into her. She kisses your nose, using one hand to grab the net from around her neck, lifting it off of her and gently placing it around your neck, pulling your hair free in the process.
Her eyes start to well again, her emotions hitting her like a truck, she swallows hard, trying to not let the creeping feeling of leaving her second home catch up to her. She fails, and a few stray tears escape her eyes, so you cup her face to wipe them away, knowing the reason for her sadness. “Hey, stay in the moment, remember?” You whisper the mantra she had been repeating the whole season softly, trying not to bring attention to the situation. She nods, you flick her hat up playfully before dragging her to sit on one of the couches.
-
The Tampa humidity had calmed down, everyone was on the rooftop now, you and Paige sharing a dirty shirley by the glass barrier, looking out into the city. You rest your head on her shoulder, the city is quiet, yet lively, with giggles from college kids on the street, and the soft thrum of car engines. “Everything I ever worked for these past five years, it all paid off.” Paige sighs, obviously more than content with the outcome of the game. “I don’t think words could describe how proud I am of you baby, natty or not, you made your mark on UConn.” You say, trying your best to express the admiration you’ve held for her these last five years.
“Pretty cute! Don’t you guys think?” Kayla slides in next to you with. You and Paige look down at her camera, a cute candid of you guys overlooking the city on the screen. “It’s perfect” You smile, hugging her, Paige doing the same. “I’ll leave you guys to it then, have fun tonight.” She winks, Paige scoffing at what she was not so subtly insinuating.
Paige wraps her arms around you from behind, kissing your cheek repeatedly, you giggle at her, knowing how she gets when there’s some alcohol in her system. You feel her breath on your ear, “Y’tryna celebrate wit me baby?” You cross your legs at her words, falling back slightly into her.
You feel her smile on your neck, she utters the last words spoken between you two on the rooftop, “Let's go then.”
-
Paige fumbled with her sweatpants pocket, pulling out the keycard, unlocking the door, and swinging it open. She pulls you into the room by the net around your neck. Eventually sitting on the edge of the bed with you in front of her, gripping the back of your thighs, looking up at you. Her tongue darts out to wet her lips, you tug her ponytail a little so she looks up at you.
“I want everything off.” Short and direct, you oblige. You peel everything off slowly, trying to drag the moment beyond her patience. Paige whines out in protest, and you decide not to tease her too much, your outfit pooling on the floor.
You kept the net around your neck though, assuming Paige would take a liking to it. It seemed like she did, because she pulls you onto her lap, her hand grips the side of your neck to pull you into a kiss.
Her tongue prods at your lips, you open your mouth slightly to let her in deeper. But tonight was about her, she deserved to be rewarded, not just for this game, but for the last five years. You shove her back, she hits the bed with a gasp. “Want tonight to be special, let me get you right first.” You say. Paige nods, not trusting her words with your newfound dominance.
Paige scoots herself up the bed, you spread her legs while she takes off her hoodie and sports bra, eager for you to speed things up.
You strip her legs of her sweatpants, her recent love for sagging her sweatpants didn’t go unnoticed. You were met with the dark patch on her boxers, slightly glossy, the material flimsy where the spot was.
You take your place back on her lap, kissing her sternum, sucking slightly on the swell of her breast, soft hums come from the blonde. You suck her nipple into your mouth, swirling your tongue around it, your fingers playing with the other one. Paige started to get a little louder, shifting her hips beneath you in hopes of soothing the ache between her legs. You switched your mouth over to her other nipple, wanting to give them the same amount of attention. Once you were satisfied, you slowly kissed your way down her body, swinging your leg off of her, you settled in the middle of her thighs, working your fingers into the waistband of her boxers, you peel them off of her. Her clit sticks out, throbbing uncomfortably, her wetness already coating her inner thighs.
“Please baby, y’gotta help me” she whines out, bucking her hips in search of your mouth. You cut the teasing act short, persuaded too easily by the need in her voice. Sucking her clit into your mouth, your fingers swipe through her folds, swiping the slick on her clit, you suckle it off of her, kissing it after. You circle her entrance, entering just until the first knuckle, then pulling out. Paige groans, her rough hand pulling you into her, you spread her folds as your tongue encases her clit yet again, the other hand coming up to finally push into her, the blonde whining when you find her spot. You drag your eyes up to look at her, her head is thrown back, and the hat that was mounted to her head all night is now almost fully off, the only thing keeping it from falling is her ponytail which was pulled through the back.
Her back arched shortly after, her moans becoming more frequent now, her head thrashing from side to side. You sighed into her, pushing yourself deeper into her.
“Fuck baby, mouth s’good, I'm not gonna last long.” You hummed at that, sucking her clit harder, massaging her spot in hopes of getting her there.
Shortly after, she cums, loud groans with scattered cuss words in between. Her wetness gushed from her, you lapped it up, resting your head on her thigh.
“Oh baby, you’re in for it tonight.”
-
“Oh, fuck, Paige!” You whined a little too loud. It was now two orgasms later, Paige had your face and chest shoved into the sheets with your ass up. She insisted on eating it from the back, her hat now sat on her head backward. Her large hands spread you open for her. You pushed back onto her tongue, the warmth of her hands making you feel hotter than you already were. She was messy, drunk off of the taste of you. She spit onto your pussy, firmly licking up the expanse of it, following it up by working her tongue into you. The muscle licking your slick clean like she was starving for you, “So wet f’me, best night I coulda asked for.” Then she was back on you like glue, the vibrations of her moans had you gripping the sheets, she was eating you like she wanted to suck you dry.
You cum, hard onto her tongue, Paige cleans it all up with her tongue. You feel yourself dozing off, the activities of the day finally catching up to you.
-
You wake up to the sound of the hotel shower, rubbing your eyes, you lift your phone up, checking your notifications, you see a new post from Paige.
The candid Kayla had taken of you guys. Paired with a caption of;
got the natty and the girl, a perfect place to be in.

ROOKIE ─── PAIGE BUECKERS
Tumblr media
request: "paige's gf and she insists on teaching her basketball—even though she's terrible at it. paige spends half the time “coaching” her (aka being flirty) and the other half laughing when she completely miss the basket"
Tumblr media
You’re not entirely sure how you ended up here—standing under the hoop on a Saturday afternoon, gripping a basketball like it’s some foreign object you’ve never encountered before.
In your defense, sports have never been your thing. You’re more of a cheer-from-the-bleachers, snack-at-halftime, maybe-ask-what-a-three-pointer-is-later kind of person. And yet, here you are, because your girlfriend, Paige—decided today was the day you’d “learn the fundamentals.”
“Okay, baby, it’s easy,” she says, her voice brimming with the sort of confidence only someone who’s mastered the art of the crossover can pull off. She spins a ball on her finger effortlessly, her grin teasing but somehow still the softest thing you’ve ever seen. “All you gotta do is aim and shoot. No pressure.”
You squint up at the basket. It feels like it’s a mile away. “No pressure?” you deadpan, bouncing the ball once and grimacing when it doesn’t exactly obey. “Do you even know me?”
Paige snickers, sidling closer until she’s standing next to you, her hand on your hip. She’s wearing her usual practice gear: baggy shorts, sneakers laced tight, and a loose shirt that somehow still manages to hint at the muscle underneath. It’s honestly unfair how good she looks while being this annoying.
“Listen,” she says, her tone shifting into something that almost passes for serious. Almost. “I know you. I also know you’re fully capable of putting this ball in that hoop if you just focus and stop looking at me like you’d rather be anywhere else.”
You glance at her, and she’s smirking now, like she knows she’s caught you. Which, to be fair, she has. “First of all,” you mutter, turning back to the basket, “I do want to be here. Second, you’re distracting.”
“Am I?” Her voice is teasing, but you don’t dare look again. You already know she’s doing that thing where she cocks her head just a little and raises her eyebrows like she’s so impressed with herself. “Want me to step back so you can concentrate, rookie?”
“No,” you reply, huffing. “But if you call me rookie one more time, I’m gonna—”
“You’re gonna what?” Paige interrupts, leaning down just enough so her lips are by your ear. Her voice drops an octave, and you swear you can feel her grin against your skin. “Miss the basket again?”
You groan, shoving her lightly with your elbow, but the weight of her hand on your hip doesn’t budge. She’s laughing now, full and bright and utterly unapologetic, and despite your best efforts to stay annoyed, you can’t help but crack a smile.
This is going to be a disaster. You can feel it.
You take a step back, spinning the ball once between your hands, trying to look like you’ve got some semblance of control. You absolutely do not. It’s slippery and awkward, and you’re already regretting agreeing to this. Paige watches you with the intensity of a coach but the playfulness of a girlfriend who knows exactly what she’s doing.
“Alright, babe, let’s see what you’ve got,” she says, crossing her arms and leaning back on her heels, all casual and amused. She looks entirely too comfortable with the idea of watching you embarrass yourself.
You square your shoulders and look up at the hoop again, trying to remember the quick, nonsensical explanation Paige gave you about form and aim. Something about “elbows in,” “flicking your wrist,” and “imagining you’re putting cookies in the oven.” Honestly, she lost you after “elbows.”
Paige steps closer, her sneakers squeaking faintly against the court. “Okay, pause,” she says, gently placing her hands on your shoulders to adjust your stance. Her touch lingers a little too long to be entirely innocent, and you glance at her, catching the faintest flicker of her teasing grin. “You’re holding the ball like it’s gonna explode. Relax.”
You loosen your grip, if only slightly, and she takes a step back, nodding approvingly. “Much better. Now, bend your knees. Remember, this isn’t a free throw contest, it’s a rhythm thing. Like dancing.”
“Dancing?” You give her a skeptical look. “You’ve seen me dance. That’s not helping your case.”
“True,” she says, laughing. “But at least you don’t step on anyone’s toes here.” Her hand brushes your lower back, the contact brief but enough to send a little jolt through you. She always does this—throws you off-kilter just enough to make you forget what you were supposed to be doing.
You shake your head, focusing on the hoop again. “Alright, alright. I’m doing it.”
“You’re doing it,” Paige echoes, stepping back into your peripheral vision, her hands on her hips like she’s supervising. “Visualize it going in. Manifest it.”
“Manifest it?” you deadpan. “Are you a basketball player or a yoga instructor?”
“Both, apparently,” she shoots back, laughing again. “Come on, just throw it already.”
You take a deep breath, bend your knees, and, in one fluid (well, semi-fluid) motion, you shoot. The ball arcs through the air in what you think is a promising trajectory… only to miss the basket entirely and bounce harmlessly off the backboard. It rolls lazily away, as if to add insult to injury.
Paige absolutely loses it. She doubles over, clutching her stomach as laughter spills out of her. It’s loud and unrestrained, the kind of laugh that’s so contagious you almost forget why she’s laughing in the first place. Almost.
“Don’t laugh,” you say, but your own voice wobbles with the threat of a giggle. “It wasn’t that bad.”
Paige straightens up, wiping at the corner of her eye dramatically. “Babe, you hit the backboard so hard I think it just filed for workers’ comp.”
“Wow, okay,” you say, rolling your eyes but failing to hide your grin. “This is why I don’t play sports.”
“Oh, come on.” Paige retrieves the ball with a few quick strides, tossing it effortlessly between her hands as she makes her way back to you. She stops just in front of you, holding the ball out. “You’re doing fine. You just need more practice.”
“And by practice, you mean you laughing at me until I cry?” you ask, arching an eyebrow.
“Exactly,” she says with a grin that’s entirely too charming to argue with. “Now, let’s try again. But this time…” She steps behind you, wrapping her arms around you and placing her hands over yours on the ball. “I’m gonna guide you.”
Your breath catches slightly as she leans in, her voice soft and close to your ear. “Okay, elbows in. Knees bent. Don’t think too hard about it. Just feel it.”
It’s a miracle you’re even upright at this point, let alone holding the ball. Her voice is low and encouraging, her arms warm and steady around you, and suddenly, basketball doesn’t seem so terrible.
“Now,” she murmurs, her hands shifting just enough to nudge yours into position. “Shoot.”
You do, and this time, the ball actually arcs in a somewhat respectable manner. It hits the rim and bounces off, but it’s a lot closer than before.
“Progress!” Paige announces, stepping back with a proud smile. “You’re getting there, rookie.”
You groan. “Stop calling me rookie!”
“Never.” She’s already picking up the ball again, twirling it on her finger like it’s the easiest thing in the world. “One more time. Let’s see if we can actually make one.”
“Fine,” you say, holding out your hands. “But if I make this shot, you owe me something.”
“Oh?” Her eyebrows raise, her smile turning playful. “Like what?”
“I don’t know yet,” you say, taking the ball and narrowing your eyes at the hoop. “But I’m thinking something big.”
Paige laughs, leaning against the pole of the hoop, her gaze fixed on you. “Deal. But if you miss… I get to call you rookie forever.”
You shake your head, fighting back a smile. “No pressure, right?”
“Exactly,” she says, her grin widening. “No pressure at all.”
You focus on the hoop again, blocking out everything except the promise of finally making this shot—and maybe wiping that smug grin off Paige’s face. With newfound determination, you bend your knees, grip the ball like you actually know what you’re doing, and take the shot.
Time slows down for a second. The ball soars in a near-perfect arc, hits the rim… and bounces around it once, twice, before dropping cleanly through the net with a satisfying swish.
For a moment, you just stand there, stunned. Then it clicks: you made it. You actually made it.
“Oh my god!” you squeal, throwing your hands up in triumph. “Did you see that? I made it! I actually made it!”
Before Paige can even respond, you’re hopping around the court like you just won a championship game. Your excitement is entirely disproportionate to what just happened, but you don’t care. You’re too busy celebrating your hard-won victory, flailing your arms and spinning in a little circle.
Paige leans against the hoop, watching you with a mixture of amusement and adoration. “You’d think you just scored the game-winner at Madison Square Garden,” she teases, but the softness in her voice gives her away.
“This is my moment, Paige!” you shoot back, still grinning like a fool. You stop hopping just long enough to grab her by the shoulders, shaking her slightly. “I made it! I’m a basketball prodigy now. Bow down!”
She laughs, her hands coming up to rest on your waist. “Alright, Michael Jordan, calm down.”
You narrow your eyes at her, playful and determined. “No, you don’t get to laugh. I deserve a reward for this. A big reward.”
Paige arches a brow, her lips curving into a smirk. “Oh, do you now? What kind of reward are we talking about?” Her voice dips into that suggestive tone that always makes your heart skip a beat.
You tap your chin, pretending to think. “Hmm… how about… lunch? I’m starving. And since I’m the champion now, you get to go buy it for me.”
Paige blinks, her smirk faltering. “Lunch?”
“Yup,” you say cheerfully, stepping back and crossing your arms. “From that cute little sandwich place I like. You can’t say no. I earned this.”
Paige stares at you, her expression torn between disbelief and fake betrayal. “You just made the shot of your life, and this is what you ask for? A sandwich?”
“What did you think I was going to ask for?” you counter, cocking your head.
She shrugs, her tone casual but her grin anything but. “I don’t know. Maybe a kiss. Or maybe some leg-shaking, world shattering head.”
“Paige!” You shout at her language, rolling your eyes, though your cheeks heat up at the suggestion. “I just exerted all my physical and emotional energy making that shot. I need food first. Priorities.”
She groans, dragging a hand down her face in mock despair. “You’re killing me here. Fine. But only because I’m impressed you actually made it.”
“Damn right you’re impressed,” you say, puffing out your chest dramatically. “Now go. And don’t forget the extra pickles!”
Paige shakes her head, laughing as she jogs off toward the parking lot. “I can’t believe I’m doing this. You owe me, rookie!”
“Never!” you call after her, grinning as you watch her go.
You sink onto the court, still buzzing with excitement. Sure, basketball might not be your thing, but moments like this? With her? You could get used to them.

Hello! I absolutely love your family series so much. I love Caitlin’s family but can you please do Paige next?
Can it be like Paige introduces their baby to Geno and CD after Paige’s game (she’s in Dallas already) and idk just cute interactions and fans are eating it up. I hope you give this a shot. Thank you!
INTRODUCTION
PAIGE BUECKERS X FAMILY READER
notes: finally…after literally 100 requests i’m properly starting my paige family series. enjoy! (p.s i think i changed this a bit from the req, sry)
requests are open for this.
packing for any trip with a baby was always a process. no matter how much you tried to pack light, you always ended up with more than you needed.
“paige, we’re not moving to connecticut.” you glanced at her over your shoulder as you zipped up one of eva’s bags. “why does she have like four different pairs of sneakers in here?”
paige, sitting on the floor with eva in her lap, looked up sheepishly. “because she’s gotta look fresh?”
you rolled your eyes but couldn’t fight the small smile. “she’s not even walking yet.”
paige turned eva toward her, gently bouncing her. “tell mama you need options, baby.”
eva, six months old with bright blue eyes just like her mom’s, blew a spit bubble.
paige gasped dramatically. “see? she agrees.”
you laughed, shaking your head as you grabbed the last of your things. “fine. whatever. let’s just go before we miss the flight.”
the flight from dallas to connecticut wasn’t too bad.
eva, thankfully, was a pretty easy baby. after some snacks, a few rounds of peekaboo with paige, and a little bit of fighting sleep, she finally passed out in your arms.
paige, sitting next to you, smiled down at her before looking at you. “this is so weird,” she murmured.
you shifted slightly to look at her. “what is?”
her lips curled slightly. “going back to uconn. with you. with eva.”
your heart softened. “you’re excited, though, right?”
she nodded. “of course. but, like…” she exhaled, running a hand through her hair. “when i left, i never thought i’d be coming back like this, y’know? like, yeah, i knew i’d visit, but—” she looked down at eva again, voice dropping slightly. “now i have a family.”
you reached for her hand, squeezing gently. “it’s a full-circle moment.”
she nodded, exhaling. “yeah. it really is.”
the game itself was electric.
stepping into gampel pavilion again felt like stepping into a time capsule. the energy, the fans, the love—it was all still there.
but this time, instead of sitting courtside just as paige’s girlfriend, you had eva in your lap.
instead of fangirling over paige as the uconn superstar, you were watching her experience the game as a wnba player, an alumni, a legend in her own right.
and, of course, you were just trying to keep eva from throwing her pacifier onto the court.
“baby,” you whispered, pressing a kiss to her head as she wiggled. “no throwing things.”
she cooed back at you, completely ignoring your request.
the fans ate her up.
anytime she clapped her little hands? cheers.
every time she got excited when the crowd got loud? adorable gasps.
by halftime, there were already tweets circulating about how paige’s baby was a uconn legend in the making.
you glanced at paige, who was beaming, filming eva on her phone.
“she’s gonna steal your thunder,” you teased.
paige smirked. “i’d let her.”
after the game, it was time for introductions.
geno and cd were already waiting in the tunnel, and the moment paige stepped forward with eva, their faces lit up.
“there’s the real superstar,” geno said, grinning as he looked at eva.
cd, beside him, immediately reached for her. “oh, let me see her!”
eva blinked at them, big blue eyes full of curiosity, before reaching her arms out for cd.
paige gasped, placing a hand over her heart. “i can’t believe this. my own daughter is betraying me.”
you laughed, nudging her. “relax, babe. she just knows good people.”
cd beamed, adjusting eva in her arms. “she’s beautiful, paige.” she glanced at you, smiling warmly. “you two did good.”
geno crossed his arms, tilting his head. “i dunno… she kinda looks too much like paige. are we sure she’s not already stubborn?”
paige gasped. “coach!”
you smirked, shrugging. “i mean, she is kind of a diva.”
geno nodded knowingly. “oh, she definitely got that from her mom.”
eva babbled happily in cd’s arms, clearly enjoying the attention.
paige sighed dramatically, pressing a hand to her forehead. “i can’t believe i came back here to get roasted.”
geno clapped a hand on her shoulder. “it’s what we do, kid.”
she rolled her eyes but couldn’t hide the smile.
you squeezed her hand, grinning.
back home. but better.
i’m in now. keep the paige family requests coming

Title: Mic’d Up Mayhem
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Pairing: Paige Bueckers x !USC girlfriend Reader
Rating: General (Fluff, Light Angst, Competitive Banter)
Fandom: Women’s College Basketball (USC & UConn)
Summary: In a highly anticipated USC vs. UConn matchup, you and Juju are mic’d up alongside Paige and Jana. Only to be mic’d up for both games against each other.... and everyone is enjoying the show
Tumblr media
“Alright, y’all,” Juju grinned, adjusting her mic pack as we stretched at midcourt. “Let’s give the people a show.”
“Oh, I plan to.” I smirked, shooting a look across the court where Paige was going through layup drills.
Paige caught my stare, smirking right back before launching a perfect three-pointer. She didn’t even watch it go in. Show-off.
“You always do when she’s around,” Juju teased under her breath.
I nudged her. “Shut up.”
Jana jogged by, adjusting her mic. “Y’all are disgusting already. Game hasn’t even started.”
“Jealous, El Alfy?” I teased.
Jana rolled her eyes. “Let’s see if you’re still talking when I send your shot into the stands.”
“Try it.”
Paige, apparently always listening even if mid conversation with Ice, called from across the court, “Babe, you’re not getting past Jana.”
I gasped. “You’re supposed to support me!”
“I do—just not when you’re lying to yourself, or going against me and fam.”
Juju cackled. “Oh, this is gonna be good.”
From the second the game started, Paige and I couldn’t shut up.
“Nice pass, baby,” Paige taunted after I barely got the ball past her defense.
I grinned, catching the ball again. “You want an assist? I can pass you my number.”
Paige snorted. “I have your number, loser. And you text me every five minutes.”
Juju cut in. “She’s not lying.”
I whipped my head around. “Girl, whose side are you on?”
“The side that wins,” Juju shot back, sinking a jumper, sending a wink at me as we moved back to being defense.
Jana jogged past, clapping. “But not for long.”
By halftime, it was a battle.
Paige hit a smooth pull-up jumper over me, then winked. “Too slow, babe.”
I exhaled sharply. “You want me to start playing for real, huh?”
Paige just grinned. “Try it.”
So, I did.
The next time Paige drove to the basket, I bodied her up. Legal contact—barely—but she stumbled.
“Damn,” Paige laughed, catching her balance. “Didn’t know my girl was this aggressive.”
Juju clapped beside me. “Oh, we love it.”
“Don’t hype her up,” Paige groaned.
Jana called, out just before trying to set up a screen for Paige. “She doesn’t need hype. She’s cooking us already, P.”
Paige raised a brow at me. “Oh, word ? Do less talking and more defense Jana.”
I winked. “Love you, baby”
She smirked. “Love you more, I guess.”
Juju fake gagged. “GOD, we get it. You’re in love.”
The game was tight—UConn and USC trading buckets down to the final minutes.
I had the ball at the top of the key, trying to shake Jana off me. She was locked in, waiting for me to drive.
I hesitated, then went for it—big mistake.
Jana timed it perfectly, swatting my shot into the stands. But my momentum was off, and as I landed, my foot twisted awkwardly.
Pain shot through my ankle. “Shit.”
Before I could even process it, Paige was there.
She dropped down beside me, pushing past the trainers. “Baby, you okay?”
I hissed, clutching my ankle. “I—I think so.”
Juju kneeled beside me, concern all over her face. “That looked rough, man.”
Jana hovered behind her, guilt flashing in her eyes. “I—I, you good.”
I shook my head quickly. “It was clean, Jana. Just bad luck.”
Paige, however, was not focused on the play. She was brushing sweaty strands of hair from my forehead, scanning my face like I’d just been shot.
“Babe, you’re scaring me,” I muttered, as she and Juju helped me stand.
Paige exhaled. “Sorry, sorry. Just—you good?”
I nodded. “I’ll live.”
And then, as I fix my semi untucked jersey, my mic pack fall out, the realization hit all of us.
Juju’s eyes widened. “Wait—”
Jana cursed. “Shit, we’re mic’d up.”
I froze.
Paige paled.
The entire arena had just heard us being disgustingly in love.
I covered my face. “Oh my God.”
I managed to play the final minute—adrenaline doing most of the work. With two seconds left, I sank a cold-blooded three, sealing USC’s 80-78 win.
The crowd exploded.
Paige was visibly annoyed, but she still smiled as I limped toward her in the handshake line.
“Good game,” I teased, taking her hand.
She smirked. “You owe me.”
I shrugged. “How about a kiss?”
Paige blinked. “Right here, ma ya sure?”
I grinned, tugging her forward. “Why not? Everybody already heard us acting like lovesick idiots.”
And with that, I kissed her.
It wasn’t long—just enough for the cameras to catch it, for the crowd to roar, for our teammates to lose their minds.
Paige pulled back, dazed. “You’re insane.”
“You love it.”
She chuckled. “Yeah… I do.”
Before I even got to the locker room good, my phone was blowing up.
Juju ran up beside me, showing me her screen. “Bro, look.”
Twitter (X, whatever) was exploding:
@NCAAWNation: Paige Bueckers & Y/N mic’d up while trash talking/flirting is everything I didn’t know I needed
@USChoops: NOT THEM FORGETTING THEY HAD MICS ON LMAO
@WNBAFuture: Juju’s reaction when she realized they were mic’d up is sending me
And then, TikTok.
Clips of our mic’d-up moments were everywhere. Paige saying love you more, me calling her a flirty menace, her full-on panic when I got hurt—TikTok was eating it up.
And, of course, the kiss.
Jana walked by, shaking her head. “Y’all are ridiculous.”
Paige just grinned, wrapping an arm around me. “Jealous, El Alfy?”
Jana groaned. “so glad she kicked your ass not gonna lie,”
Paige smirked down at me. “Eh. I got the real win right here, plus she kicked OUR ass by two points.”
I rolled my eyes. “You’re so corny.”
She kissed my temple. “And..”
I barely had time to shower before Paige was waiting outside my locker room, arms crossed, smug as hell.
“You’re taking me to dinner,” she declared, leaning against the doorframe.
I scoffed, finishing the knot on my hoodie. “I’m taking you?”
She smirked. “You kissed me in front of an entire arena, babe. Least you can do is buy me a burger.”
Juju appeared at my side, throwing an arm over my shoulder. “I vote we all go. Y/N paying.”
I groaned. “Why am I paying?”
Jana, walking by, answered without stopping. “’Cause, it'll be pitty dinner to the looser, name Paige.”
Paige cackled. “ouch, but she’s got a point.”
So, somehow, I ended up at a late-night diner with Paige, Juju, and half of our teammates from both teams. The game had been electric, but the real fun? Watching Paige smugly take sips of her milkshake while everyone talked about the mic’d-up chaos.
“You really forgot?” Aubey grinned, nudging Paige.
Paige didn’t even blink. “I was focused on my girl.”
Juju fake gagged into her fries. “I want a refund on my ears.”
I rolled my eyes, flicking a fry at Paige. “You were focused on trash-talking me.”
“And look where it got me,” she smirked. “victory in trash talking milkshake.”
Jana cut in. “Barely. If Juju had missed that shot, it was OT.”
Juju lifted her fork like a mic. “I never miss.”
Paige side-eyed her. “I’ll remember that.”
She was already plotting her revenge for our next match up in two weeks.
The people wanted more, so here we were. UConn vs. USC, round two. Except this time, Paige was locked in. Less flirting. More trash talk.
“I hope you stretched, babe,” I teased, adjusting my mic pack.
Paige grinned. “I hope you practiced your jump shot.”
Juju and Jana exchanged looks. “Here we go again, just dont forget we're mic’d up y'all.”
Paige was relentless.
Every time I touched the ball, she was in my space. I barely got off a shot before she smacked it away.
“Not today, mamas,” she taunted, wagging a finger.
I groaned. “You’re so annoying.”
Juju, running past, laughed. “Says the one who spent the last game flirting.”
Paige just smirked. “I can do both.”
She proved it by stealing the ball from me, driving downcourt, and sinking a three.
I put my hands on my hips, before doing a quick check ball with Juju. “Show-off.”
Paige jogged backward, smirking. “I know.”
Once down the court and getting reader to take the shot for a 2, Paige blocked me again. I swear, she was on a mission.
“That’s three.” She held up fingers. “You good, babe?”
I groaned. “I will be when I get past you.”
“Manifesting, huh?”
Juju clapped beside me. “She needs something, cause gurl you could have made that way before her block.”
I deadpanned. “Y’all suck.”
Jana shouted from the paint, “You still haven’t scored on her, by the way.”
Paige grinned. “Thank you, Jana.”
I glared at them both, Juju snorted. “She’s salty.”
I managed to shake Paige on a screen and hit a floater over Jana.
Paige sighed dramatically. “Congrats, babe. You’re on the board.”
I flipped my hair. “You’re just mad I scored, and it wasn'tagainst you.”
Paige grinned. “Nah, I’ll just drop a three on you next possession.”
And she did.
The game was tight, but UConn pulled ahead. Paige hit back-to-back threes, then turned to me with the smuggest grin.
I rolled my eyes. “Alright, Steph Curry.”
Paige shrugged. “If the shoe fits.”
Desperate, I went for my own three. I followed my form, watched the ball arc—and bricked.
Paige cackled. “Babe.”
I groaned. “Don’t.”
She jogged past, patting my shoulder. “What did I tell you about following your shot?”
Juju, chimed in. “Hate to agree, but Bueckers is right, gotta stick the form and follow ya shot girly”
I roll my eyes , “Judea, who's side are you on bro.”
We fought hard as we could, but it's wasn’t enough. UConn won by six, 90-84 and I was annoyed. Paige, however, was thriving.
She found me in the handshake line, tilting her head. “Dinner’s on me, ma.”
I groaned, softly. “Yeah your turn to get me pitty dinner.”
She grinned. “Love you too, baby.”
I sighed. “You’re so obnoxious.”
Paige leaned in, voice low. “Yeah, but you keep coming back for more.”
She wasn’t wrong.
Another night, another viral moment. This time, Twitter was roasting me.
@NCAAWNation: Paige blocking Y/N three times in a row and then hitting a three on her is top-tier entertainment.
@USChoops: NOT Y/N BRICKING A THREE RIGHT AFTER PAIGE HIT ONE
@WNBAFuture: I need these two mic’d up forever.
@lil_paigey.p: hope no trouble in paradise for those two later...
And, of course, Paige had zero sympathy.
She FaceTimed me that night, grinning. “Had fun?”
I groaned. “I’m blocking your number.”
She smirked. “No, you’re not.”
And, of course, she was right. “But no, good game, P. You did an amazing job”
Looking in the camera with a soft smile, “You fought, hard baby and I'm proud of you for that.” she said as she propped her phone up as she entered the fortnite lobby, with Juju.

Baby in the stadium
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
warning: none
characters: jude x mom!reader
summary: when to surprise Jude you take your little daughter for the first time in a game
may contain spelling and translation errors!
It was an important game at Santiago Bernabeu, with Real Madrid facing one of its biggest rivals. Jude Bellingham was focussed, as always, but he didn't imagine that that night had a surprise he would never forget.
You had planned everything in secret. With Nala already completing seven months, you decided it was time to take her to the stadium for the first time. In addition, did you know that Jude would be thrilled to see the little one wearing the team's official shirt, personalised with the name "Bellingham" and the number 5 - the same as her father.
You arrived at the stadium with Nala in your arms, wearing a warm coat over the mini shirt. You went straight to the area reserved for the players' families, being welcomed by the WAGs, who were already looking forward to meeting the Bellingham's' daughter up close.
-You finally brought her, Y/n! -Joked one of the players' wives. -Jude will go crazy when he sees you here.
You smiled, adjusting your daughter's cute hat, which matched perfectly with the baby's look.
-He has no idea. I thought it was time to give dad a boost on the field.
Nala, unaware of the commotion around him, looked curiously at everything. The loud sounds, the lights and the energy of the stadium left her enchanted.
While the players were warming up on the lawn, you decided to go down a little to the area closest to the field, still in the reserved part, so that Jude could see it. Some teammates realised it first.
-Wait a minute... is it Nala?
Said Camavinga, pointing to the side.
Rodrygo, who was next to him, laughed.
-I can't believe it! Jude will have an attack when he realises.
And it didn't take long for your fiancé to look in the direction in which the companions were pointing. He stopped in the middle of the field, his eyes wide, and a gigantic smile took over his face. He waved excitedly, as if he wanted to make sure it was real.
You answered with a small nod, lifting Nala on your lap. The baby, as if understanding what was happening, gave an adorable giggle and babbled something indecipherable, making Jude smile even more.
-My daughter is here!
Jude exclaimed to his colleagues, visibly moved.
At halftime from the game, the boy went straight to where you were. He didn't even bother to take his eyes off his daughter, who was now more desperate and kept watching everything around her.
-You two killed me from the heart today. -He said, taking the baby in his arms. -Look at this shirt! 'Bellingham 5'... My girl is all stylish."
Nala grabbed her father's face with her little hands, making everyone around her sigh with tenderness.
-It's getting strong, huh?
Jude commented, kissing his daughter's cheek.
Some teammates approached, curious to meet the famous little girl. Vinícius was the first to joke.
-She already looks like a player, huh, Jude? It will be faster than you.
Rodrygo laughed, watching Nala grab Jude's finger tightly.
-Look at this! She's already practising the grip to hold the ball.
You laughed while watching the scene.
-Be careful, guys. Nala may end up becoming the team's official mascot.
After a few minutes, Jude had to go back to the field, but not without first kissing you and the little girl again. He was visibly more excited and inspired. Commentators and fans didn't take long to realise that something special was happening - Bellingham seemed more focussed and determined than ever.
The camera even captured a moment when he looked at the stands and smiled, discreetly waving to you. This, of course, left fans emotional on social networks, with many commenting: Baby Bellingham is already officially Real Madrid's biggest lucky amulet!
When the game ended with a spectacular victory, Jude ran straight to you again. He held his daughter in his arms and lifted him up, as if introducing the little one to the crowd, who went crazy.
Already in the car, Nala fell asleep on his lap, exhausted after so much news. You looked at Jude through the rearview mirror and smiled.
-Today was the best game of my life, you know?
He said, intertwining his fingers with yours.
-Of course it was. You had our amulet there with you.
You answered with a smile.
Jude laughed softly.
-Now that she came once, she will always have to come.
You pretended to sigh.
-It's good, Bellingham. I think we can turn Nala into Madrid's number one fan.
And so, your little daughter's first trip to the stadium went down in history as one of the most special days for Jude - and, of course, for the fans who couldn't stand so much cuteness anymore.

lovie flash forward where she captains the lionesses to win the euros again (with any kids from the other stories that are lionesses kids) and she’s a midfielder because when she was little she didn’t want to choose between alessia and leah so she chose between their two positions she also is number 6 (for leah) and has russo on her shirt (for alessia) so it’s a mix of both of them. she’s also quite tall but the nickname tiny stuck around😭
there’s even a déjà vu moment for when they play germany and lovie is looking over a players shoulder at a note and people make it a meme along side alessia’s from years ago😭
anyway! she captains them to a clean sheet win and scores a hatrick and has a world famous celebration that’s all over the internet with kids copying her and when she’s getting interviewed after it she basically says what leah said “I can’t stop crying” and “i’m trying really hard not to swear”
and when it’s all done she’s back to celebrating and drags alessia to roll around in the confetti with her like when alessia won her first euros and she makes ella and mary knee slide with her like then too (bc ofc they came to watch) also dedicates her medal to her mum and leah during her interview🤌🏽
maybe even gets a ballon d’or nomination afterwards😎
glimpse of the future | alessia russo x leah williamson x russo!reader
to the person who requested this, i'm so sorry it took so long. i loved this request when i first seen it and wrote a whole fic in two days for it but then when i was editing it i re-read it and hated it hence why it's took so long, but i hope i've done it justice as i ended up loving making this and editing photos for this was such a fun thing to write once i got the plot right🙃
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
grumpy masterlist
you stood in the tunnel, your heart pounding as the roar of the crowd echoed throughout the stadium walls. taking a glance down at the armband which was wrapped tightly around your left arm. captain, you, at 23 leading england onto the pitch in the euros final. it was something four year old you dreamed about.
the weight to deliver tonight was almost overwhelming. but your focus went to your family who was in the stands.
your mum, leah all decked out in england merch, shirts, flags face paint everything they could get their hands on as they were surrounded by your uncles gio and luca as well as your grandparents who had been there throughout the entire tournament as well as your mum's former teammates.
you could imagine your mum's excitement vividly - alessia painted in england colours, a scarf tied around her neck despite the warm weather and her england shirt with 'russo' #11 adorned on the back.
alessia had spent the last three weeks telling anyone who would listen about how proud she was leading to you being the subject of endless teasing from your uncles and your mum's friends even if was a little annoying you knew it all came from a good place.
"you've got this lovie" alessia whispered to herself, adjusting her shirt a little, the iconic number 11 gleaming with pride. your number being that as it was the famous number 2,3 for your mum and 6 for leah combined.
as you walked onto the pitch with your team, the thunderous cheer filled your body with energy. the match beginning and you were in your element. england were dominating possession, moving the ball with so much flare.
so in the 24th minute a perfect through ball found you in space as you cut inside, steering clear of the german defender as you slotted the ball into the bottom corner - the stadium erupted. your team mates surrounding you with head taps and hugs.
by the time halftime had rolled around, you had already bagged a brace having been set up perfectly each time by your teammates. england were flying and looking likely to win it but you knew better than start and get comfortable knowing the momentum could easily change.
in the 70th minute of the second half, the germans made a substitution. your sharp eyes caught a glimps of a substitute carrying a folded piece of paper.
wandering over as you strained to see it over the players shoulder, but it was all in german and dotted with cryptic numbers. you mum walking with a big grin as it was a straight parallel of the same thing she had done int he 2022 euro final.
"focus lovie" she muttered to herself as she felt leah's hand rest on her knee to stop it from bouncing up and down. the game getting its self back underway.
the game wearing on, the german tightening their defence but you weren't finished. in the 78th minute you found yourself once again on the edge of the box.
a clever one two with your centre forward, left you one one one with the keeper. seeing an open goal you chipped the ball delicately over the outstretched hand of the keeper.
GOAL!
you knew once it had left your foot it was going in, your celebration was instinctive. rushing over to the corner in a sleek knee slide as you cupped your hand to your ear — staring into the stand as you soaked in the noise.
you way of silencing the doubters, for those who had said you'd never be half the player your mum was. you feeling nothing but satisfaction when you proved them all wrong time after time.
the referee's whistle cut through the air finally after six minutes of added time — sharp and definitive. and for a second you froze. then it hit you, you had done it. your three goals had done it. england were european champions, once again.
you knees buckled and you collapsed onto the grass, your hands covering your face as the tears started to fall. the noise around you was deafening, a cacophony of cheers and screams echoing throughout the stadium.
you tilting her head back, staring at the sky as you tried to catch your breath — your chest heaving up and down.
feeling hands grab at your shoulders and turning to see your teammates rushing towards you, all screaming with joy. a blur of england jerseys surrounding you as you were pulled into a massive group hug, lifting you off the ground as if you were the trophy.
you laughing through your tears of joy, unable to stop the huge grin on your face as they chanted your name, loud and proud.
"russo scoring goals galore! captain fantastic!" your teammates shouted, ruffling your hair as you took in every single ounce of the moment.
back in the stands with your mum, alessia was in her feet. tears falling from her eyes as she clutched onto leah's arm. "that's my baby, that's my lovie!" she shouted her voice cracking.
alessia's scarf all askew, her face paint all smudged from the tears streaming down her cheeks in joy, but she didn't care. she could be prouder of you and she wanted all to know.
leah was beaming beside your mum, clapping furiously as her voice was hoarse from cheering. leaning in close to alessia as she rubbed a hand up and down the blondes back.
"you right here that, you know. she's you out there — maybe slightly better" leah nudged alessia as she playfully rolled her eyes at the teasing comment.
"don't say that!" alessia half laughed, while half crying through the pride radiated from her, "but also — maybe"
your grandparents, carol and mario were on their feet waving flags and cheering loudly. mario clapping a hand over his heart as his face etched with emotion, “she’s incredible” he said to no one in particular more just thinking aloud.
“runs in the family” gio chimed in as he grinned nudging luca slightly.
luca had been on his phone recording the celebration, well trying to. “this is going on every family group chat. i’m never letting her forget this!”
as your mum’s former teammates — ella, mary, lucy and lotte were just as loud as your family. they may not be your family by blood but they were definitely your chosen family. they’d watched you grow up with their owns eyes being there for you when you needed.
mary was hollering, “that’s the russo legacy right there!” as lucy waved her england scarf above her head like a helicopter.
as you back in the pitch, you’d managed to peel yourself away from the group hug as your eyes scanned the stands, looking for your family.
finding them quickly, your mums attire dressed in full england merch from head to toe was a dead giveaway, and when your eyes met your mum’s you lifted your arms and pointed towards her.
“for you mum!” you mouthed, tears were still streaming down her face in pure pride. alessia bringing a hand to her mouth as she nodded the tears continuing to spill over again.
you turned back to the field, it being moments away from the trophy celebration, as you wiped your eyes as the reality of the moment was really starting to settle in.
you’d dreamed of this as a little girl, you’d watched your mum win it in 2022 amongst some of the most decorated players in the words which your adored.
now it was your turn. your fists clenching as you breathed in the moment. the weight of history pressing in your shoulders — but not as a burden but as a crown.
the crowd hadn’t stopped for a single moment since the final whistle, chanting and cheering as the team relished in the celebrations for their hard word over the past few weeks.
as you lined up watching the german players receiving their medals first, as you congratulated each one. you’d dreamed watched as your teammates, their joy mirrored your own. a sense of profound sense of gratitude — not just for the win, but also for the journey.
the germans had received their silver medals, it was now your turn as the announcer roared their names through the speakers.
you stood at the end of the line watching all your teammates received their well deserved gold medal, the captains armband still snug around your arm, still trying to process what had just happened.
your cheeks were damp with tears, your hands trembling with adrenaline and emotion.
the first few medals had been handed out, you watching in with pride as you could hear their laughter, their shouts of disbelief. every step closer to the podium felt surreal — as if she was walking through a dream.
it was now your turn, the official draped the gold medal around your neck, the cool weight of it grounding you. you touched it lightly then turned to the cheering fans lifting it high. the roar from the crowd was deafening.
you’d shook hands with all the officials lined up, your heart pounding as you were left to lift the trophy. your heart was pounding. the trophy was gleaming under the stadium lights and you couldn’t tear your eyes away from it.
"and now, your captain, y/n russo, will lift the trophy!"
the crowd erupted as you moved towards your teammates moving into the middle of the group as you gripped the handles of the trophy tightly. pausing for a moment as the weight of the moment hit her.
then with a deep breath, you hoisted it high above your head. confetti cannons exploded, showering the team in gold as the stadium roared with joy.
you closed your eyes, tilting your head back to feel the confetti rain down on you. you could hear your teammates screaming behind you, their hands slapping her shoulders in celebration.
in the stands, your mum was a mess of tears and pride. she clutched leah’s hand tightly, “that’s our girl, le” your mum yelled bouncing on her toes as you lifted the trophy.
gio was shouting your chant, “midfield magic, hear the crowd roar! russo’s scoring goals galore!” as luca waved a giant england flag above his head.
back to you on the pitch, the trophy remained being passed about high above peoples head as you laughed on, before an interviewer found you amidst of the celebrations.
“how does it feel y/n?”
“i-i can’t stop cryin’ and i’m trying really hard not to swear” you admitted, a small laugh falling from your lips as your voice shook.
"what does this all mean to you and the team?"
you took a deep breath. "i speak on behalf of all my teammates when I say this is for everyone who doubted us, who told us we shouldn't play because we're women. well, look at us now. european champions. who's got the title—us or them?"
you paused, your eyes glancing over to the stands where your family was, “and for me, well this isn't just about football. i've been able to do this because of my two biggest fans—my mum and le. this is for you both. i love you so much. and gio," you added with a teary laugh, "you were right—this is way better than chocolate!”
you laughed, knowing when gio and the rest of your family saw the interview would get the reference from when your mum first won the euros. you thanked the interviewer as you made your way to the sidelines where you would finally be able to enjoy the moment with those who mattered most to you.
when you made it to them, you effortlessly jumped over the barrier, being engulfed by your family. your mum throwing her arms around you, sobbing for the thousandth time today.
“mum! we did it” you whispered, your voice breaking.
your mum hugging you tightly as a hand run down your back before she pulled away, “no, you did it lovie.”
leah joined the hug, wrapping both your mum and you in her arms, “we are so proud of you, angel” she smiled softly her own eyes filled with pride.
as you turned to your grandparents who had been watching the sweet moment between your mums as they beamed with pride.
your nonno, mario pulled you into a tight hug, “you’ve made this family so proud kiddo” he smiled his voice thick with emotion.
“thanks nonno” you said, your voice trembling as you held back the tears.
your uncles, gio and luca, of course broke the emotional moment with their teasing. “did you have to score three? what a show off!” gio grinned, a wide smirk on his face.
you laughed, rolling your eyes playfully, “remind me how many you’ve scored in a euros final?” you quipped back. gio just laughing as he pulled you into a headlock as you laughed.
you’d posted for photo after photo, finally making your way to your mum’s teammate that had made the journey, mary was first to give you a massive hug ruffling your hair. “hat trick in a final! you’ve got your mums genes that for sure!”
“probably better actually” ella added with a wink as you scoffed with a laugh.
“ok, ok let’s not start that argument, again” you smiled as you catch up with the girls your cheeks already flushed from the sheer amount of attention being placed on you.
the celebrations felt endless and carried on all night long, you not being sat in a function room. having danced the night away with not only your teammates but also your family.
but you still had one thing left to do, the medal which hadn’t left your neck. moving your way over to your mum who was sat leaned up against leah.
you without saying a word took the medal from around your neck, placing around your mums as a confused look flashed across your mums features.
“lovie? what- what are you doing? this is yours” your mum asked as she moved to take it from around her neck.
your quickly shaking your head, “no it’s for you, without you, and leah i wouldn’t be half the person i am today”
and there came the tears again as alessia beckoned you to sit down next to her as the tears spilled again.
“oh not again, angel i had just managed to get her to stop cryin’!”
-
months later
you were sprawled out on the couch having a rare weekend off you’d came home for to spend some time with your mums.
you quiet morning however was ruined when alessia walked in, holding her phone. her face was lit with excitement.
“lovie, you’ll never guess what!” your mum paused as you nodded your head for her to continue, expecting for her to tell you about some gossip she’s found from the neighbours while putting the bins out, “you’ve been nominated for a ballon d’or!”
you nearly choked on your water as you shot up, your eyes going wide, “what? are you having my life?”
your mum shook her head, “you’ve heard me!” she beamed, “i always knew you’d do something special but this-“
leah then appeared in the doorway clearly having already heard the news as she shook her head with a bright smile, “told you less, she’s better than we ever could have imagined”
you groaned from the compliment, though you were grinning, “mum, le- stop your embarrassing me”
but as you hugged them both, you knew you wouldn’t trade their pride or their love for anything in the world.
from ‘tiny’ to towering greatness — quite literally — y/n russo had lived up to the legacy and had created a one for her own in the process.

The cheerleader effect
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Footballplayer!Megan x Cheerleader!reader
Warnings: honestly just Megan being a cute loser
Fluff
a/n: guys this is my first post, I hope you’ll enjoy it:)
Megan adjusted her football jersey, her palms clammy despite the cool breeze that whipped through the school field. She glanced toward the cheerleaders practicing their routine near the bleachers, her eyes immediately landing on you. You were in the middle of a perfect toe-touch, your bright smile lighting up the field. Megan’s heart did a little somersault, and she nearly tripped over her cleats.
“Smooth,” Daniela teased, jogging up to Megan with her helmet tucked under her arm. Her curly hair peeked out from underneath her practice cap, and her signature smirk was firmly in place.
“Shut up,” Megan muttered, her face flushing bright red.
“Seriously, Meg. When are you gonna talk to her?” Sophia, the team captain, chimed in as she walked by. Her commanding presence was impossible to ignore, even when she was being playful.
“I—uh—soon?” Megan stammered.
Manon, who had been stretching nearby, looked up and rolled her eyes. “You’ve been saying ‘soon’ for weeks. At this point, she’s gonna graduate before you even say hi.”
“I have talked to her,” Megan protested weakly, knowing full well that asking to borrow a pencil in history class didn’t count as meaningful conversation.
“Barely,” Lara said as she plopped onto the grass beside Megan, pulling out her water bottle. “You’ve got game on the field, but when it comes to her? Zero.”
Even Yoonchae, who was usually the quietest, couldn’t help but chuckle as she passed by. “Just don’t trip over your words again like last time.”
Megan groaned, burying her face in her hands. The last time she’d tried to talk to you, she’d managed to spill Gatorade all over herself and then nearly fell down the bleachers. She was convinced shed never recover from the embarrassment.
Later that day as you were packing up your cheer gear you noticed Megan lingering near the lockers. Her broad shoulders seemed to shrink as she fidgeted with her helmet strap, her usual confident demeanor nowhere in sight.
“Hey, Megan!” you called out, waving.
Megan froze, her eyes wide like a deer caught in headlights. She turned to you slowly, her brain scrambling to come up with something—anything—to say.
“H-hi! Uh, hey! How’s…cheering?” she blurted out, internally cringing at her awkwardness.
You smiled, amused by her nervous energy. “It’s good! We’re working on the halftime routine for Friday’s game. You’ll be there, right?
Megan nodded so vigorously she nearly dropped her helmet. “Yeah! Of course! I mean, I have to. I’m on the team.”
You giggled, and Megan felt her heart melt. “True. Well, I’m looking forward to seeing you play.”
Megan opened her mouth to respond, but her words got tangled somewhere between her brain and her tongue. Instead, she managed a thumbs-up before awkwardly walking into the locker room door.
Behind you, the rest of the football team had been watching the entire exchange from a distance. Daniela burst out laughing, while Sophia smirked and shook her head. “She’s hopeless.”
Manon leaned against the bleachers, a knowing look in her eye. “Or maybe she just needs a little push.”
Game Night
The stands were packed, the air electric with excitement. You led the cheerleaders in their opening routine, your voice loud and confident as you hyped up the crowd. Megan couldn’t take her eyes off you, even as Sophia barked instructions at the team in the huddle.
“Focus, Megan,” Sophia warned, though her tone was more amused than stern.
“Right. Focus,” Megan muttered, tearing her gaze away.
But it was easier said than done. Every time you smiled or cheered, Megan’s heart raced. During one particularly tense play, she glanced at you again—and promptly fumbled the ball.
“Seriously, Megan?” Daniela groaned as the opposing team recovered the fumble.
“Sorry!” Megan called, her face burning with embarrassment.
After the Game
Despite Megan’s mishap, the team managed to pull off a narrow victory. As the crowd cheered and players celebrated, you approached Megan, holding a bottle of water.
“Good game,” you said, handing it to her.
Megan took it, her hand brushing against yours. “Thanks. And, uh, sorry about the fumble.”
You tilted your head, giving her a curious look. “Why are you apologizing to me?”
“I just…got distracted,” Megan admitted, her voice barely above a whisper.
Before you could respond the others appeared behind Megan, grinning like a pack of mischievous wolves.
“She got distracted by you,” Daniela said bluntly, earning a chorus of laughter from the group.
Megan groaned, covering her face with her hands. “Oh my God, you guys—”
You laughed, stepping closer to Megan. “Is that true?”
Megan peeked at you from behind her hands, her cheeks bright red. “Maybe?”
Your smile widened, and you gently tugged her hands down. “Well, if it makes you feel better, I think it’s kinda cute.”
Megan’s jaw dropped, and her friends erupted in cheers and teasing remarks. Sophia gave Megan a pat on the back. “Looks like you finally scored, Meg.”
As the night went on, Megan couldn’t stop smiling—and neither could you.

Varsity Jacket - CC
Tumblr media
Pairing: Caitlin Clark x Reader
Summary: You and Caitlin keep it light and playful at a game (based on THIS request)
Warnings: fluff
Word Count: 2.4k
Sweetbans Masterlist
AN: Is this not everyones dream?
It's the first time in the state's history of WBB that they decided to play basketball in a football stadium. A piece of history that has been led by one girl allowing thousands to benefit.
The game was chosen to be an exhibition game, a kick-off to the season, naming it the Crossover at Kinnick. They laid the Iowa WBB court within the confines of the outdoor football stadium, drawing a near 55,000 fans to be a part of the first game in Caitlin Clark's senior year. A NCAA record-breaking 55,000 fans. The first of many records Clark would break this upcoming season.
The game followed a lot of football Saturday traditions. The way the team was called out, a stadium flyover, and your favorite part - the Hawkeye Wave over to the kids in the UI Stead Family Children’s Hospital. You had done it before when your team had danced at football games and were excited to be a part of it today.
You are proud to be part of the Iowa Hawkeye dance team - have been for the past three years now. It is what brought you to IU in the first place.
Growing up dance had always been something you enjoyed. Unlike most of the other girls on the dance team, you didn't start taking dance classes until halfway through middle school. When you learned you had a natural talent for it, you started taking it more seriously. You joined your high school's dance team and decided it was something you wanted to try your hand at in college. When you auditioned going into your freshman year, you were one of two freshmen to make the team.
Since then you have captained the team for two football seasons, going into your third. Yet here you are, freezing your azz off because you forgot your damn coat.
Upon arriving at the stadium, you should have been prepared. You should have thought through how it is November in Iowa and how it is about to be winter but that doesn't cross your mind until you are shaking courtside.
"Didn't you bring a coat?" One of your teammates asks. She is currently bundled up in two jackets, ear muffs, and hand warmers.
"If I did, don't you think I would be wearing it?" You snap and immediately realize. "I'm sorry babe, I am just freezing."
You are trying to hide your shaking body and keep moving around to generate any sort of heat that you can.
A part of being on the dance team was being visible during the whole game. You weren't the cheer squad but your team had to be posted up next to them every game. It wasn't bad, it was just cold.
As halftime approached you directed your team to stretch out again, not wanting them to pull anything while dancing. You did the same, as you watched your basketball continue to do what they do best.
Once everyone was stretched, you all bunched together ready to take the court.
"I am still freezing my ass off," you say rubbing your hands together and huddle close to your friend. "I can't believe I didn't bring my freaking overcoat."
The team was coming off when someone bumped your shoulder causing you to take a few steps back.
"Hey! Watch it," you tell the 6-foot frame.
"Oh shit, I'm sorry," the girl says. You pull down your skirt and smooth it over. Once you are satisfied with your outfit adjustment you look up.
'Of-freaking-course', you think to yourself as you make eye contact with none other than Caitlin Clark.
"I didn't see you there," she says, the slightest smirk peaking out.
"Very funny Clark," you say trying to hide your own smile and keep it serious.
"Oh, keeping it professional now are we?" She says. "It's cute, but you can call me Caitlin."
"That is so kind of you," you say, kind of surprised she is still there talking to you. You finish your sentence with, "Clark."
She just smiles and shakes her head. You hear the music come on and you know it's your cue. Caitlin doesn't follow the rest of the team back through the tunnel, rather stands to the side and watches you and your team take the court.
Caitlin knows she should be back with her team. More so to warm up but she couldn't nor wanted to take her eyes off you. She stood there watching you and your team keep everyone entertained during halftime. A smile resting on her lips the entire time.
She has seen you around before. How could she not, you were at practically every sports game. Caitlin would frequent the Hawkeye's football games but never really got close enough to see you perform (something she will probably never admit to you). If it wasn't seeing you in passing there, she noticed you would go and watch other sports just for fun. She has to think about it but if she remembers correctly she has seen you at both the men's and women's volleyball matches, women's soccer, and even some track and even the women's swim and dive meets.
Caitlin cheers on your team as you finish your routine and runoff, making way for the cheer squad to perform their routine next. As you make your way back you see Cait standing in the same spot she bumped you in. She is smiling at you and clapping as you make your way over. You walk up to her despite the murmurs you hear from your team, only making out your name and Caitlin's in their muffled conversations.
"Aren't you supposed to be somewhere, Clark?" You ask as you cross your arms over your chest. You may have just performed a 6-minute dance routine but the chilled air was unforgiving.
"Wanted to stay out here and watch - making sure your little frozen ass doesn't fall off," she says, her eyes never leaving yours.
"The team is great," you say with a smile choosing to ignore the second part of her statement and refusing to be the first one to break eye contact.
"I wasn't watching the team," she says, that stupid smirk playing on her lips again. You could feel yourself losing this battle.
"That's a shame, they are great," you say trying to regain any part of this conversation.
"Maybe, but not as great as who I had my eyes on," she says. You blush and look away. You felt like you were being interrogated by the freaking CIA not flirting with your school's superstar.
"Okay, Clark, you win," you say as you crumble under her gaze.
She rubs the back of your arm, letting her hand linger on you. You look back up at her.
"I should get back," she says not wanting to leave you but knowing her job isn't done.
"You should," you say, agreeing for her - the first time since this conversation has started.
"Thanks for umm, thanks for watching," you say, your nerves peaking out. She nods and heads in the direction of her team.
What the hell was that? You make your way over to your team and they are all chattering about the interaction. You take your seat next to your co-captain who is just looking at you.
You keep your head forward still processing it all. Caitlin Clark was just talking to you. Not only that, but she waited and watched you perform then proceeded to flirt with you about it. Her hand was on your arm. You were thankful it wasn't skin-to-skin contact because you probably would have never let her walk away. She was teasing you.
You are too caught up in your own thoughts to see when someone had walked up to you. Your co-cap tapping your leg and nodding at the woman who was standing in front of you.
"Oh hi," you say and stand.
"I was told to bring this over to you," she says holding something, you look down and it's a jacket.
"Oh thank you," you say grabbing it.
"She wanted me to say it is from Caitlin," she says, emphasizing the name. "Told me I had to emphasize the name."
The woman walks away and you unfold the jacket to see 'CLARK' on the back right above the number 22. This girl is not serious right now. If you were under any other circumstance, you would not be putting it on but since the only time you have stopped shaking was while you were performing you decide to put the jacket on.
If your team was whispering about your interaction with Caitlin before, they are shouting from the rooftops now.
The basketball team comes back out and you find yourself looking for a particular someone. To your delight, she is making her way over to you.
"You got it, good," she says, wrapped in an Iowa jacket of her own.
"You didn't need to do this," you say but make no move to try and hand it back to her. It has been the warmest you have been the whole game. She lets out a little laugh.
"Sure, says the one who was shaking like a chihuahua," she says taking in the sight of you in her clothing. She could get used to this.
"I appreciate it, Clark," you say and she groans.
"Caitlin," she says.
"Clark," you retort.
"Cait," she responds.
"Clark," you are not giving in.
"CC, Caity, C - anything but Clark," she says frustrated.
"Why does it bother you so much that I call you by your last name?" You ask now the one who has the slight edge in the conversation.
"Clark, get your butt over here," one of her coaches yells at her.
"That's why," she mumbles and gives you one last look before running back over to the team.
"Get it Clark!" You yell after her, earning some whistles and shouts from your team.
You're thankful it is still cold out because the redness on your cheeks can easily be taken as cold, hiding your blush.
Your team doesn't shut up about the fact that you had talked to Caitlin but she gave her varsity jacket to you to wear. All the girls were staring at you and taking in the sight of the player's jacket.
A ball gets swatted out of bounds and you catch it before it can hit anyone on your team. Caitlin sees where it goes and books it to grab it from you.
Here is the thing about Caitlin, she is the last person to go and catch a ball that has been hit out of bounds. Her whole team was aware of this. So it is to everyone's surprise when she is the first one to hustle after the ball when the whistle is blown.
You hold up the ball for her.
"Careful there Clark, could have hurt someone," you say.
She laughs, "Ya right."
"Since when are you the first one to run after a loose ball," you say exposing that you may have watched her more than a few times. Could anyone blame you? Caitlin has been drawing the attention of the whole nation.
"Didn't want to miss the opportunity to come talk to the pretty girl," she says with that damn smirk.
"You are too kind Clark," you say faking flattery.
"Oh, I was talking about the girl next to you," she says teasing you.
You sit there speechless as Caitlin finally takes the ball.
"I'm kidding, but you should see the look on your face. It's priceless," she says winking at you before heading back over to inbound the ball.
'Oh it is on Clark' you think as you watch them finish up the last quarter.
Caitlin, of course, plays amazing. She finishes the game off with her first triple-double of the season. You watch as she celebrates with her team - all of who were excited to start the season on a high note. You are celebrating with your team when they all go quite in front of you and stare at something behind you. You turn around before Caitlin can tap your shoulder.
"Ahh, so we meet again," you say with a smile. "Well done Clark."
"Okay, enough with the Clark. You are wearing my jacket for goodness sake," she says and shakes her head.
"Oh, ya, thank you for this," you say and begin to take it off. She stops you by putting her hand on your arm - the second time today you note.
"Hold on to it, if you take it off now you will start shaking again and I don't really care to see you looking like a little chihuahua," she says and scratches the back of her neck. You raise your eyebrow at her. If you don't give her the jacket back now, that means you will need to see her again to return it.
"And who exactly am I supposed to get this back to you?" You ask.
"Well that is actually why I came over here," she says and you can tell she is a little more nervous than she had been before. You don't notice but both of your teams are watching the interaction between you.
"Okay," you say encouraging her to continue.
"How would you feel about going out with me this weekend?" Caitlin says as she has to mentally remind herself to keep her breathing steady and to not rush her words.
"I don't know..." you start. "I was thinking I could just have someone swing the jacket by one of your practices."
Caitlin's face looks mortified and you immediately bring your hand up to hers to ease her, your joke being taken a little too serious.
"I'm kidding Clark," you say and give her hand a squeeze. "I would love to go out with you this weekend."
She smiles widely.
"Great," she says. "I'll text you details," she begins walking backward.
"And how are you going to do that without my number?" You say as she is now just out of reach.
"You're cute," she says, now back in control of the conversation. "I've had your number for a while, now I just get to use it."
You stare at her, mouth agape. You don't know how to get the last word in so she does.
"Talk to you soon babe!" Caitlin says and runs back towards her team.
AN: This was a cutie. Hope you enjoyed it and let me know what you think! And as always, thank you for the love and support 🤍

lena oberdorf x dallas cowboys cheerleader!reader
(a/n: can you tell this is a british person who wrote this?? i’ve always had an odd obsession with those ladies so but anyways lena oberdorf, my shayla >_< I hope you enjoyed this one, i’m thinking of doing a two part for this, lemme know if you would like that and happy reading x)
word count: 1986
genre: fluff
summary: two different worlds, colliding in the most unexpected of places—yet somehow, it felt like they were exactly where they were meant to be.
As you adjusted your glittering blue uniform, the scorching Texas sun cast its unwavering gaze upon AT&T Stadium, making the atmosphere both electrifying and intense. The fabric of your outfit shimmered brilliantly, reflecting the light with every slight movement, and the heat enveloped you like a warm embrace. You stood tall and proud as the centrepiece of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, a position you had dreamt about since your earliest memories of watching those iconic routines on television, captivated by the energy and precision.
You were focused on tonight’s performance, where an international friendly match between the USWNT and Germany’s national team took place. It wasn’t every day a soccer match took over their football stadium, and you were eager to see how the crowd would react to the shift in energy.
Among the German players warming up was Lena, the star midfielder known for precision and aggression on the field. Lena was as disciplined as she was fearless—a footballer who’d grown up training in the rainy fields of Gevelsburg. She was fiercely proud of her roots, yet found herself intrigued by this massive, almost theatrical American sports culture.
The game unfolded with an intensity that crackled in the air, but amidst the thrumming excitement, Lena’s gaze was irresistibly drawn to the vibrant splashes of colour and dynamic movement spiralling down the staircases among the throngs of spectators. The cheerleaders, clad in striking uniforms that shimmered in the arena lights, led a fervent cacophony of cheers and chants that resonated through the crowd, their infectious energy sweeping over everyone present. It was unlike anything she had ever experienced back home, a captivating display of spirit and camaraderie that left her spellbound.
The halftime break arrived with a pulse of excitement rippling through the massive crowd. The game was tense, and the U.S. and German teams were locked in a fierce battle, but for the next few minutes, all eyes would be on you and the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.
You took a deep breath, standing tall at the edge of the field, feeling the electric energy in the air. The opening chords of AC/DC’s Thunderstruck blasted through the speakers, and the crowd erupted. This was the routine—fast, furious, and legendary. The kind of performance that could make even the toughest sceptics believe in the art of cheerleading.
From the sideline, Lena sat on the bench in the technical area, water bottle forgotten in her hand. She has seen plenty of halftime shows in her career, but nothing like this. The music thumped in her chest as you sprang to life, every movement precise and explosive. Your hair whipped around as you launched into high kicks, your blue rhinestone-studded stars sparkled under the stadium lights.
The choreography was relentless. Sharp motions that synced perfected with the pounding drumbeat, pom-poms slicing through the air with military precision. You moved with such confidence, such undeniable magnetism, that Lena found herself frozen, mesmerised.
“They’re incredible, aren’t they?” Sara murmured beside her, but Lena barely heard. Her eyes were fixed on you, whose smile radiated pure joy, body moving with an effortless grace that only came from years of dedication. As you dropped into the squad’s signature kickline, the entire stadium roared in approval. You stole a glance towards the sideline—just for a second, and caught Lena watching you intently, eyes wide with admiration. A rush of heat flooded your chest, and you pushed yourself even harder, feeding off the connection you felt from across the field.
Lena’s heart pounded, though she wasn’t sure if it was from the music or the way your energy seemed to wrap around her like a lasso. She had always thought football was the ultimate rush, but this? This was something else entirely. She watched you flip, spin, and land with flawless precision, your spirit seemingly untouchable.
As the routine built to its climactic finish with the cheerleaders launching into a gravity-defying jump split, the stadium shook with applause. Lena found herself cheering along with the crowd, a rare uninhibited smile breaking across her face. As the final notes of the music faded and you struck your last pose, breathing heavily but wearing a wide, triumphant grin, you turned your gaze toward the sideline once more. The vibrant energy around you was palpable, and your eyes locked with Lena's across the field, a connection forged amid the exhilarating chaos of the performance.
The stadium lights still burned bright long after the game had ended in a tense draw, the buzz of excitement still lingering in the air. You and your teammates lingered along the sidelines, feeling the residual adrenaline still coursing through your veins. But now, with the game over, you found yourself feeling oddly restless as you interacted with the young girls in the stands, helping them take photos with their fellow football idols.
Your eyes wandered across the field, where the German players were cooling down, stretching, and exchanging jerseys with their American counterparts. Among them was her, the striking brunette midfielder who had been impossible to ignore during the match. You had noticed Lena the moment she stepped onto the field, the fierce focus and effortless control of the ball captivating in a way that you hadn’t expected. And when she caught Lena watching the halftime performance, you felt something shift.
Lena, too, had felt it.
She was still replaying the halftime show in her head, the pounding rhythm of Thunderstruck echoing in her ears. German football culture was all about discipline and rigour, but what she witnessed was pure fire. And it fascinated her.
As Lena pulled off her sweat-drenched jersey and wiped her face with it, she spotted you standing by the tunnel, chatting with your teammates but glancing her way now and then. Summoning her courage, Lena handed her jersey off and made her way across the field.
Your stomach flipped when you realised Lena was heading your way, tall and athletic, her dark hair tousled from the game. You played it cool, offering a bright smile as Lena approached. “Nice performance,” Lena said in her slightly accented English, her lips curling into an easy, lopsided grin. “I didn't know football had…entertainment like that.”
You twirled a pom-pom absentmindedly as you laughed. “Well, soccer, not usually. But we like to put on a show here in Texas. Gotta give the fans something to cheer for, right?”
“But you were amazing out there. I’ve never seen someone control the game like you do.” You nudged her, pom-pom crinkling in hand.
Lena’s cheeks flushed slightly, and she looked down, kicking at the turf. “Thanks,” she said softly, “but I think you might have beat me in the whole crowd control department.”
“Guess we both have our talents.” You winked.
There was a moment of silence, not awkward but filled with the weight of something new and intriguing. You shifted in your boots, then glanced towards the tunnel, hearing your directors call your name as well as Lena’s teammates calling out for her.
As you glanced back at Lena, a sense of urgency reflected in her captivating gaze. “Well, Lena, it was a pleasure meeting you,” you said, your voice tinged with a mix of warmth and urgency. “I hope you had a wonderful time in Dallas. Safe travels!” There was a sparkle in your eyes as you took one last look at her, committing her features to memory before you turned and jogged off toward your waiting coworkers, the lively chatter of the group drawing you back into the moment.
Before Lena could find the words to respond, you had already turned away, your footsteps quickening as you joined your teammates. The air between you felt heavy with unspoken feelings, and she let out a soft sigh, trying to suppress the flicker of disappointment that threatened to surface. Yet, deep down, she vowed to herself that this wouldn’t be the last time your paths crossed.
Tumblr media
You left your locker room cladded in your Cowboys sweats, boots clicking across the vinyl floor, on the hunt for the bathroom, using it as an excuse to get away from your prying teammates who questioned what happened between you and “that German girl.”
Turning a corner, you begin to hear the chatter of the German team, playful shrieks being thrown as you saw them file out of their locker room, you stood against the wall as the players walked past you, exchanging thank yous and goodbyes. Your eyes searched for Lena as she left the room, laughing with one of her teammates.
Her eyes lit up as she met yours, standing adjacent to you on the wall to allow her team to walk in front of the two of you. A couple of the ladies patted her shoulder with knowing glances as they walked past.
She appeared vibrant and youthful, her cheeks flushed with a rosy hue that contrasted beautifully with her smooth complexion. Her hair was styled in a bun, showcasing the delicate contours of her face. “I knew you’d find me,” you teased with a smile, the words playful and light. As you both strolled side by side, each slow step felt deliberate, as if you were trying to savour every moment and stretch out the time spent together.
“Couldn’t help myself,” Lena said with a nonchalant shrug, her eyes darting momentarily away as a palpable silence settled between them. She hesitated, her fingers nervously twisting the strap of her bag, a subtle sign of her apprehension. A flicker of uncertainty crossed her face, as if weighing her next words carefully in the stillness.
“So, listen,” she said with an easy smile, “we’re having a little after-party tonight. Some of the team rented out a place downtown. You should come.”
Your heart skipped a beat as you halted your steps. For a moment, idea of letting loose, spending more time with Lena, and stepping outside the tight bubble of her DCC world was intoxicating. But then reality set in like a bucket of cold water.
The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders had strict rules about fraternisation with players, whether football or otherwise. No dating, no hanging out, no exceptions. Even though Lena wasn’t an NFL player, you knew it was a grey area that could get you in serious trouble. You had worked too hard to get here, sacrificed too much to risk it all for a night of fun—no matter how tempting Lena’s invitation was.
“I’d love to, really.” You bit your lip, as Lena’s eyes lit up. “But we have some…rules.” you said carefully, fiddling with the sleeves of your sweatshirt. “Cheerleaders and players aren’t really supposed to hang out.”
Lena raised an eyebrow, surprised. “Even when it’s not your team?”
“Even then,” you sighed. “It’s a whole image thing. They want us to be, you know, untouchable or something.” You bounced your leg anxiously.
The tall brunette frowned, leaning in slightly. “That’s ridiculous,” she said, a hint of defiance in her voice. “We’re just people. It’s not like I’m asking you to break the law.”
You let out a small chuckle. “Try telling that to my directors. They’d have me benched for the rest of the season.”
Lena studied your face for a moment, then shrugged with a playful grin. “Okay. So, what if I promise to keep my distance? I mean, we could pretend I’m just a fan. I’ll even act starstruck if it helps.”
“You? Starstruck?” You couldn’t help but laugh “I’d love to see that.”
“Then come. Just for an hour.” Lena tilted her head, eyes twinkling. “I promise no one will even know we’re there together.”
You hesitated, torn between your cautious instincts and the undeniable pull towards Lena. Breaking the rules, even bending them, could cost you everything you had worked for. But then you looked at Lena, at the way she stood there, so open, so genuine—and something inside you whispered, take the chance.

sae itoshi needing a quick release during halftime
nsfw — minors dni
cw ; possibly ooc sae , nsfw, quickie , semi public (?) , hair pulling , face fucking (?) , not proofread , no capitals are intentional , also my first nsfw .. be nice pls , smut w some plot , i know nothing about soccer sorry
Tumblr media
it was finally halftime. sae sighed in relief as he walked off the field. all of his teammates just seemed like morons to him; how can you be a striker and not even know how to score? hell, he, a midfielder, had gotten more shots than the forwards.
he was the last off the field intentionally, he didn’t want others to see him meeting up with another. your confidentiality was his top priority.
he continued to walk along the long hallway, internally cursing the u-20 team for being such slackers —
“hey, sae!” your voice called out in the cheerful, but not tiring tone.
“oh, hi.” he dragged off, nonchalance coating his tone like he didn’t come this way just to see you.
the two of you began walking down the hall together, he was weirdly quiet. he was usually reserved, but it wasn’t ever this hard to keep a conversation going.
“is there something bothering you?” you asked cautiously.
“ugh, it’s just my team, especially the strikers, they’re all impossible. and don’t even get me started with the awful captain..” he rolled his eyes at the thought.
the topic changed to him ranting about the team, you didn’t mind, at least he was talking.
“so.. you’re pent up?” you summarized, looking at him directly.
“yeah, you could say that.” he brushed it off. “it’s nothing much.” you almost scoffed. ‘nothing much’, but he spoke about it for almost 5 minutes straight, and immediately after, continued.
the next thing he knew, you’d managed to drag him into some other change room, pushing him down on the bench, swearing it’ll help him relax.
“i mean, im not like, shocked or anything — it’s japan, they could never have good strikers, but something like this? it’s almost pathetic..”
his words became nothing more than that, just words. your focus went towards, something else — his shorts. you pulled the band forward, causing a slight pause in his sentence as he eyed you on your knees. but made no effort to step in.
you took that as a ‘go ahead’ from him, so you continued, quickly pulling his shorts and boxers just low enough so that you could see his hardened cock spring out.
you dragged your hands up and down it, giving occasional squeezes which earned you a stutter or shaky breath. you knew there wasn’t too much time left in it anyways, maybe 10 minutes? so you’d have to be quicker. you began with the tip, your tongue circling it and gently pushing down to let yourself adjust.
however, sae was on much more of a time crunch. he groaned as your saliva coated more of his length, grabbing your hair and thrusting it down towards the base.
“fuckin’ hell, if you’re gonna pull this shit, you gotta do it quicker.” he mumbled, his voice hoarse. he held you there for a moment before slowly lifting your head up just to force you back down moments later.
you tried to let out some sounds, but they came out muffled.
“hmm? what’s that? y-you wanna talk? you can talk later. breathe through your nose, yeah, jus’ like that.”

Court-side Secrets
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Synopsis: Y/N, the country’s top-ranked basketball player, and Karina Yu, volleyball’s golden girl, have been keeping their relationship a secret—until Y/N shows up to her game without a disguise, sitting front row like he owns the place. With flashing cameras, stunned teammates, and a kiss that shakes the entire gym, the couple goes public in the most unforgettable way. Let the world watch. They’re done hiding.
Word Count: 1,380
Karina X Male Reader
You were more than a campus legend — you were the name in college basketball. Ranked #1 in Division I, the guy who dropped 71 points in a single game. Commentators called you the future, the next big name to change the sport. Off the court, your face was on banners, promo reels, and half the students’ phone wallpapers.
Karina Yu? She was no different.
Division I volleyball’s top-ranked player. Captain. MVP. Ice-cold serves and a poker face that never cracked. Her fanbase was just as loud, just as obsessed. The two of you were untouchable, constantly swarmed in public, constantly watched
So when you supported each other, it was always in secret.
Or at least, you tried to keep it that way.
The gym buzzed long before tip-off.
“Is Y/N playing tonight?” a girl in the bleachers whispered.
“Mhm, I sure hope so.”
“I think he’s set for a higher league already. No doubt.”
“I heard he dropped 40 just last week. Like it’s nothing.”
You could hear the murmurs even from the locker room tunnel. You didn’t react. Just adjusted your jersey and jogged onto the court. The moment your name was called, the crowd erupted.
Phones up. Flashes everywhere.
You tuned it all out — until your teammate nudged you during warmup.
“Yo, look who’s here.”
You glanced toward the stands, half-expecting just more students. But there she was — oversized hoodie, black mask, sitting three rows up, halfway hidden beneath the brim of her cap.
Karina.
She looked like she didn’t want to be seen, but her eyes were locked on you.
You smirked.
She gave the smallest wave — a flick of her fingers, just for you.
“You two are ridiculous,” your teammate snorted, tossing you the ball. “Might as well go public.”
You chuckled, catching it with ease. “Not a chance.”
By halftime, you were on fire. Twenty-three points. Three assists. The crowd was in chaos. But your focus kept drifting to that one spot in the stands — that hoodie, that mask, those eyes.
She wasn’t cheering loud. But she was watching.
And that was enough.
Because even when the world watched both of you…
you only really showed off when she was in the crowd.
The crowd was still roaring even as you stepped off the court, jersey damp, adrenaline still pumping in your veins. Your teammates hollered and laughed around you, slapping your back, hyped on the win. You gave them the usual smirk, the casual “good game” nods — but you were already glancing at the entrance to the hallway.
And there she was.
Leaning against the wall outside the locker room door, hoodie still on, cap pulled low, face mask tucked under her chin now that no one else was around. Karina Yu, volleyball’s golden girl, here just for you.
You didn’t say anything at first. You just gave her that look — soft, tired, but smug.
“47 points?” she said, voice quiet. “Show-off.”
You grinned. “Told you I’d make it look easy.”
She rolled her eyes, but the way her lips curled at the corner gave her away. “Come on. Cool down before your ego overheats.
You stepped inside the locker room and she followed, sneaking in through the back door the staff always left cracked open for you two.
Now, it was just the two of you. The room smelled like sweat and muscle balm, steam fogging up the mirror above the sinks. You peeled off your jersey, tossing it into your bag, and reached for your towel.
Karina sat on the bench across from your locker, legs crossed, watching you like this was just another part of her routine — like she hadn’t crossed half the campus in disguise just to be here.
“You didn’t have to come, y’know,” you mumbled, toweling your hair dry. “Could’ve watched the highlights like everyone else.”
“I didn’t come to see the game.”
You stopped.
“I came to see you.”
The air shifted — soft and warm, like the static right before you touch someone’s hand for the first time.
You dropped the towel over your shoulders and looked at her. “You gonna kiss me in a sweaty locker room? Real romantic, Karina.”
She shrugged. “Better than letting you walk around with that smug look thinking I wouldn’t.”
You laughed — that low, boyish laugh you only ever let her hear.
She stood up, walked over, and tugged lightly at the collar of your towel. Her eyes searched yours for a second.
Then she leaned in and kissed you — soft, quick, with the smell of spearmint gum and victory sweat between you. She pulled back before you could chase it.
“There. Don’t say I never reward good performance.”
You blinked. “That your way of coaching me?”
“That’s my way of saying I’ll see you at my game on Friday.”
She turned and walked out like she hadn’t just left you absolutely floored.
Friday night.
7:00 PM sharp. Karina’s game was about to start.
The volleyball arena was packed. Girls in matching jerseys. Posters reading “YU GOT THIS”. Lights flashing, cameras rolling. Noise bouncing off every wall. But none of it compared to the sudden wave of whispers that rippled through the crowd as you walked in.
No hoodie.
No mask.
No hiding.
Just you in sweats and a plain black tee, walking straight through the crowd like a storm parting the ocean.
“Wait— is that Y/N?”
“No way, that’s him. That’s the Y/N.”
“Since when does he come to volleyball games?”
“Isn’t he, like, the number one basketball player in the country?”
“Oh my god… he’s here for Karina, isn’t he?”
Phones were out instantly. Pictures snapped like camera shutters were part of the soundtrack.
You didn’t even flinch. Walked straight to the front row, plopped down like it was your throne, elbows on knees, and stared at the court.
Karina hadn’t seen you yet.
She was mid-stretch, focused, ponytail swinging, surrounded by teammates.
“Hey, Karina,” one whispered, nudging her.
“What?” she said without looking.
“Uh… don’t freak out but…”
She looked up.
Right at you.
Her heart stopped.
Eyes wide.
Breath caught.
Then, as if on cue, she rolled her eyes and tried to stay cool.
But her teammates exploded.
“No way.”
“Is that your boyfriend?”
“Wait, you’re dating Y/N?!”
“I KNEW IT. I KNEW YOU TWO WERE A THING!”
Karina hissed through her teeth, “Can you not right now?”
“Girl, he’s literally here. Front row. No disguise. I would pass out,” one giggled.
Mid-game, Karina was ice. Precision. Power. Poise.
But after every serve, her eyes would flick to the front row.
Just to make sure you were still watching.
And you were. Always.
Arms folded.
Lip curled in a half-smile.
Like you’d buy the stadium just to keep looking at her.
When the final whistle blew and her team took the win, the crowd erupted — but the real buzz came when Karina walked straight off the court and didn’t head to the bench.
She walked to you.
The gym went silent like the air had been sucked out of the building.
“Wait… no way. She’s going to him.”
“Is this happening right now?”
“They’re making it official in front of everyone.”
Karina was still in her uniform, sweat clinging to her skin, and you—cool as hell—stood up to meet her.
“You played like you knew I was here,” you said, grinning.
She was panting, flushed from the game. “I was trying to ignore you.”
“Didn’t work.”
She glared, but there was no heat. “You really didn’t even try to hide?”
You tilted your head. “I’m tired of hiding you.”
Karina blinked.
Someone in the stands gasped. Her coach watched from the bench, mouth slightly open. A girl behind you whispered, “They’re really doing this.”
Karina stepped closer. You raised a hand and gently tucked her damp bangs behind her ear.
The room was still watching.
But for a second, it didn’t matter.
“You’re insane,” she whispered.
You leaned down, close enough to press your forehead to hers. “And you love it.”
She laughed under her breath, quiet and breathless.
Then she kissed you — right there, in front of everyone.
Soft, short, but sure. Like she’d been wanting to for way too long.
The gym exploded.
your story that garnered well over 9000 likes.
“crazy soft launch!”
“Y/N softlaunching? when we know its clearly Karina!”
“you kissed her in front of everyone last friday!”

Gabe adjusted his Boston College hat, the brim low to shield his eyes from the mid-afternoon sun as he stepped out of the Uber, scanning the sea of maroon and gold that sprawled before him. The crisp October air carried the unmistakable smell of charcoal grills and the distant hum of laughter and music. Fall was definitely here, but the warmth of the day still clung in the air, that perfect mix of cool breezes and lingering heat that made it hard to believe summer was really over.
Gabe weaved through groups of students and alumni, looking for Jacob. He had texted him earlier to meet up in the parking lot where the tailgate was going on, Gabe figuring he was already set up in the thick of it. Sure enough, he spotted Jacob, who was laughing alongside his girlfriend Olivia, and a small group of her friends.
“Hey man,” Jacob greeted Gabe, dapping him up when he approached.
Gabe returned the dap with a smile, already feeling the buzz of energy around him. "What’s up, bud?" he replied.
“You gonna get in on our pool? We’ve got a bet going about the over-under for total points.” Jacob explained.
“Don’t do it, Gabe, the buy-in is forty bucks,” Olivia warned, receiving an eye roll from Jacob that didn’t go unnoticed. “You blow money on stupid things and then lose them, Jacob, you need better spending habits.”
Gabe slightly tuned out the bickering couple, his eyes scanning the lively crowd around him when his wandering gaze fell on you. You stood just a few feet away, engaged in a heated game of cornhole with some guy, tossing playful trash talk his way. You wore a cropped Zay Flowers BC jersey slightly exposing your midriff and a sparkling stud on your bellybutton. Your hair fell in loose waves around your shoulders, and the bright smile that stretched across your face was infectious.
“You see something you like?” a voice teased from beside him. Gabe forced his eyes away from you as he realized Olivia had caught him staring. A knowing smile tugged at the corners of her lips. “That’s y/n. She’s one of my friends from bio, I’m sitting next to her in the game. I should introduce you.”
“What?” Gabe tried to play it off cool, but he could feel the heat rising to his cheeks. “Nah, I was just—”
“Staring, yeah, I know,” Emily teased, giving him a playful nudge. “She’s great, by the way. She’s super smart, a little intense but in the best way, and she’s got this whole Georgia thing going on. You’ll hear it when she talks, trust me. You should totally go say hi.”
“Ah, I don’t know…” Gabe said, looking back at you. He watched as you threw your head back with laughter, the joyous sound rising to the noise of the crowd.
“Come on man, don’t be wimp.” Jacob urged, giving him a soft shove.
Gabe rolled his eyes but couldn’t deny the spark of interest flaring inside him. “Alright, fine. I’ll go talk to her.”
He stepped forward, weaving through the crowd, trying to figure out how to approach without coming off like a total idiot. Just as you were lining up your next shot, he cleared his throat. “Pretty sure you’re making this guy’s life miserable.”
You let out a laugh, the sound melodic. “Hey, it’s not my fault he’s terrible at this,” you teased, taking your shot and sinking the bag perfectly into the hole, winning your game.
“Wow, I’m impressed,” Gabe said. “Mind if I challenge the winner?”
“You want in on this?” you asked, raising an eyebrow, clearly amused. “Alright, but just know I won’t go easy on you.”
Gabe chuckled, appreciating your boldness. “I wouldn’t want you to.”
The game started, and you made sure to keep the banter alive. As the two of you exchanged playful jabs, Gabe quickly learned a few things: you were from Georgia, which explained the slight twang in your voice and what Olivia said earlier, and you were majoring in biology. It was clear you had a contagious energy about you, something that made it easy for Gabe to be around you.
When the start time of the game neared, you shifted inside the stadium where you and Gabe ended up sitting next to each other, leaving Jacob and Olivia to their own little world. The stands were packed, the atmosphere electric as the Eagles took the field. Throughout the first quarter, Gabe tried to keep his focus on the field, but his mind kept drifting back to you—how animated you got with every play, the way you yelled at the refs, and how you’d nudge him whenever something exciting happened. Football was supposed to be the main event, but now? You were stealing the show.
Midway through the game, you pulled out a couple of airplane bottles from your purse, handing a tiny bottle of Fireball to Gabe. “Security didn’t catch these,” you whispered, winking. “Wanna share?”
He grinned, feeling a little rebellious as he took the bottle from you. “You come prepared.”
“Always,” you said, clinking your bottle against his.
And when the fight song started blaring through the speakers, you threw your arm around his shoulder, singing loudly and pulling him into it. “Come on, Gabe! You gotta show some school spirit!”
He laughed but joined in, letting you drag him into the moment, singing along with the rest of the crowd, even though he didn’t know the words as well as you did. There was something infectious about your energy, the way you were so unapologetically yourself, and Gabe found himself caught up in it.
By the time the fourth quarter rolled around, the Eagles were trailing by 3, but you were still holding onto hope, your eyes glued to the field. When they scored with just 15 seconds left, you let out a scream of pure joy and launched yourself into Gabe’s arms. His arm instinctively wrapped around your waist as he picked you up, the two of you caught up in the moment as the crowd roared around you.
“They did it!” you yelled, beaming as you hugged him tightly.
Gabe couldn’t help but smile back, caught up in your joy. There was something about the way you were looking at him in that moment, so full of life and excitement, that made him realize something. He wasn’t just into you because of the game, or because of how you looked in the jersey, or even the way you made him laugh. He was into you because of you.
As the crowd started to thin out, you hooked your arm through his, still talking about the game, about how this was exactly what the Eagles needed to turn their season around. He listened, though his mind was elsewhere — on you, on the feeling of your arm around his, on how easy it was to be around you. As the crowd spilled out into the streets, Gabe offered to walk you back to your dorm, which you accepted gratefully. The sunset bathed the campus in a golden light, casting a warm glow that made you look radiant in his eyes. You chatted the whole way back, the conversation flowing easily, like you’d known each other for longer than just a few hours.
When you reached your dorm, the orange and pink hues of the sky made you look almost ethereal. The lingering warmth of the day clung to the air, Gabe feeling a sudden rush of nerves. The conversation had slowed to a comfortable lull, and you were smiling at him, your eyes glowing in the soft light of the setting sun. Gabe rubbed the back of his neck, taking a step closer to you, feeling like now or never.
“You know,” he began, his voice a little lower than usual, “I’ve had a really great time today. Didn’t think I’d get this lucky at a football game.”
You tilted your head, grinning, “Lucky, huh? I feel like I’m the one who should be saying that. You were a great seat partner.”
Gabe chuckled, but his smile faded slightly as he searched your eyes. His heart pounded in his chest as he leaned in just a bit, testing the waters. “Can I ask you something?”
“Sure,” you replied, your voice softening in the quiet of the evening.
For a moment, Gabe hesitated, his fingers brushing lightly against your arm. “Can I kiss you?”
The question hung in the air between you for what felt like an eternity, but when you nodded, your lips curved into a small, inviting smile. Gabe didn’t waste another second. He closed the gap between you, gently cupping your face with one hand as he pressed his lips to yours.
The kiss was soft and tentative at first, the faint taste of Fireball still lingering on both of your lips. But as you leaned into him, wrapping your arms around his neck, the kiss deepened. It was sweet and full of excitement as Gabe’s hands moved down to your waist. Gabe’s heart raced as the warmth of your body melted into his, and for a few moments, the world outside your little bubble ceased to exist.
When you finally pulled away, both of you were breathless, your faces inches apart. Gabe couldn’t help the goofy smile that spread across his face. “Wow,” he murmured.
You laughed softly, the sound sending a shiver down his spine. “Wow is right.”
You probably think that it was the kiss that did it for Gabe, that made him want to make you his. That maybe that was the moment when it all clicked for Gabe — the warmth of your lips, the way you smiled right after, or how the sunset framed you like something out of a movie.
But if you ask him, he’d tell you he knew by halftime.

Hi guys!
This is a request I had some days (or weeks?) ago. I hope it would please the sweet anon who asked for it :)
Enjoy!
TW : Concussion, blood, injury, fainting.
_____________________________________________________________
Since the beginning of the day, something seems of when you look at your girlfriend. She seems worried, not at ease and is excessively clingy with you. Not that you don’t like it, but Lia always have said that you should be careful about your relationship. She doesn’t exactly want to be secret, but she wants people to concentrate on her play and not on her relationship. Which you can understand, her breakup with Caitlin Foord looked like it involved a lot of other people. The fans, actually.
You choose not to come together this afternoon for the game, you’re playing in the Arsenal’s stadium, so you have to come with your cars. You asked Alessia to pick you up and Lia is supposed to get you home. Because of the traffic jam Alessia and you are a little late. You are surprised to see you girlfriend almost jumping on you when you arrive, grabbing you by the sleeve of your jacket.
“Where the hell have you been?! I was worried sick!”
You look at her with incredulity written on your face. Where is your girlfriend, always calm, posed, thoughtful and rational?
“We had a lot of traffic on the road, but everything’s fine. Are you ok?”
She doesn’t answer, grabbing you by the hand this time, to get you to the changing room. You question Leah with a look, but the blonde only shrugs her shoulders. You take Alessia with you with your free hand, dragging her with you.
You are not even late when you get on the pitch, starting the training after hearing some of tactical adjustments from Jonas. Lia, sitting next to you, doesn’t seem to be able to stay still. And she is very nervous during the drill too, making you wonder what the hell is happening to her.
You take her around a corner before going to change for the game, far away from the other’s ears.
“Lia what’s happening? You are acting weird since this morning.”
“Nothing” Lia sighs, looking around her.
Everywhere but you. You cup her cheek with your hand, attending to have a real exchange of look with her. You know that when you look at her in her eyes, she can’t lie.
“Lia” you say with a soothing voice. “Talk to me Baby, please.”
She sights and rub her face, still leaning against your touch anyway.
“You are going to think that I’m stupid.”
“Not even in your wildest dream.”
This time your girlfriend rolls her eyes and smile lightly, making you smirk in return. You know that if it’s affecting Lia like this, this isn’t nothing.
“I just have that feeling that something bad will happen. I had it when Leah did her ACL and it’s back.”
The Swiss woman already talked to you about the feeling she had that day, almost seeming to say that it was her fault if something like that happened to Leah. You trust her, obviously. But your job is to reassure her too.
“It’s going to be ok Babe, I swear. I won’t let anyone take you down.”
Next to Katie and Leah for today, you are a defender. And for you, your job is to not let the other team come near your goalkeeper, but not to touch any of your teammates too. The fans call you The Bodyguard, and it’s not for your passion for the song « I will always love you ». You are higher than Lia but you aren’t really high either. You don’t seem to be big too, but your muscles allow you to stay with your feet firmly on the ground against almost every charge.
You offer a hug at Lia, who cuddle against you. She doesn’t exactly worry about herself, more about one of your friends. But she tries to convince herself what you said. It’s going to be alright.
During the game, you see your girlfriend flinch every time that one of your teammates is on the ground. Liverpool isn’t playing dirty, there are some faults of course, but it’s a great game. At halftime, it’s 2-0 for Arsenal.
But when you are back in your cubby, your girlfriend always seems to the point of fainting from stress. You decide to abandon Lotte and her cubby next to yours to go sit next to Lia in her cubby. You propose her half of your banana, which she take with a small smile. Looking around to be sure that no one is looking at you, you kiss her cheek.
“Breath Babe. Everything is fine, see? We are winning and no one is hurt.”
Lia nod and take your arm against her, trapping it between her two. You let her, smiling when she put her head on it. When it’s time to get back, you kiss her hair and follow her peacefully.
You should have listened to her though. Because it’s not her, it’s not one of your teammates that get hurt at the end of the game.
It’s you.
Around the 80 minutes, you are running on the box to try to take a ball from Caitlin. She sends it and at the same time as you, another player from the other team is jumping. Your heads collided. Hard. You were running from all your speed, so is your opponent. The first shock almost knocks you out immediately, but the way you fall on the ground with all your weight, head first, it’s the one thing too many.
You fall out, not reacting at first when Caitlin run to you, making you roll to your side. Jonas is screaming to the medic to “get your ass on the pitch right now”. When they arrive at your side, Alessia and Katie are here too. But Lia is frozen at the other side of the pitch, unable to make a move.
After some hesitation and realizing that the medical team shushed away almost everyone from you, Leah decides to take care of Lia. There is only Katie left next to you, maybe because she’s your best friend. Some feet from away you, Alessia and Caitlin are shaking and Lia knows right away that this is bad.
“Lia” Leah calls her.
The Swiss woman looks at her friend, who doesn’t know what to say. The blonde just takes Lia’s hand, training her slowly in the direction of the bench, where your other teammates are. But when she realizes where she’s going, Lia stop dead in her track.
“I want to see her” Lia mumbles.
“I don’t know if it’s a good idea...”
Alessia, who were not far from them give a look at Leah. She shakes her head at Leah behind Lia’s back and the blonde understand quickly. But Lia sees that Leah is looking at someone and Alessia can’t stay quiet when she sees your girlfriend’s face.
“I think it’s better that you stay here for some seconds. There is blood and…”
And suddenly there is more movement next to you and they can see Katie standing up. Her hands are red with your blood and Lia starts walking without really realizing it. She ignores Leah calling her, she just wants to see you.
“Lia, stop, Sweetheart” Katie says softly when she saw your girlfriend’s coming.
“I want to see her” Lia mumbles, looking at Katie.
“I know. Just wait some seconds, ok? Believe me, please. She’s breathing but passed out, they want to clean her wound. And she kind of… Throw up. They say it’s because of the shock.”
A little far from you, the other injured player is standing but have a bag of ice against her head. But she’s up, unlike you. Lia watches Katie washes her hand and let a sob out before talking.
“I knew something bad would happen, I told her. It can’t be happening again.”
“Lia stop, it’s not your fault.”
But before she can explain why it actually is, the medical team is moving you off the pitch. They put you on a stretcher and Lia could now have a full look on you. You’re still off, a massive bandage around your head and some blood is still on your face.
“I’m going with her” Lia informs Jonas.
The man is a little surprised, usually Lia is the one of all her player who will listen to him without a second thought. But right now, he saw the despair on Lia’s face and know right away that he can ask her to finish the game.
“We’ll bring you your stuff” Leah says.
Kyra gives Lia her jacket to keep her warm and with that the Swiss woman is following you until you are in the ambulance. They put you on monitor and gave a call to the hospital to say that you are coming. You’re still not up and they want to make some tests to know and understand why.
At the hospital, a sweet nurse takes Lia in the waiting room, offering her a coffee. Lia takes it, but when Katie, Leah and Caitlin are here, her cup is still full. Katie put your bags next to Lia on the ground and Leah sits next to Lia, kissing her head. Caitlin looks unsure about what to do though. She came because she wanted to be there for Katie and for Lia too, but with their past, she doesn’t know if Lia wants her here.
They exchanged a look though and Lia just nod in direction of a free chair next to Katie. With a small smile, Caitlin sits next to Katie, taking her hand is hers.
“What did they say?” Leah asks.
“Almost nothing. They are making tests and x-ray to see how her injury is. She didn’t wake up, Lee.”
Lia doesn’t want to cry. She really doesn’t. But she can’t stop the tears from rolling on her cheeks. Big, hot tears. Feeling her heart breaking for her friend, Leah takes her against her and let Lia put her head on her shoulder.
“It’s going to be ok” Leah mumbles.
Some time pass, hours actually, and Lia almost fall asleep on Leah’s shoulder from exhaustion. But she jumps every time, trying not to. Even if the three other girls told them that they will wake her up. Lia rings your parents instead, even if she doesn’t have anything good to say to them.
“Family of Y/N Y/L/N?”
“It’s me. I mean it’s us”
Lia jumps on her legs and almost run to the doctor. He looks at the four girls with an arched brow.
“Are you all her family?”
“This is her girlfriend” Katie answers almost aggressively.
Caitlin takes discreetly her hand in hers, trying to calm her girlfriend. The doctor sighs but add nothing, looking back at his papers.
“So, we made some test to understand her injury better. She doesn’t have anything broken or blood inside, but she has a massive concussion. We don’t know when she will wake up and she will obviously staying here all the time she needs to wake up. Maybe she will have some repercussions, but we can’t say anything right now.”
“What do you mean, repercussions?”
Leah asks for Lia, who seems very close to a nervous break down.
“Loss of memory, attention disorders, chronic headaches, nausea” he starts to list with a disinterested air. “Language and visualization in space disorders, change of behavior, character... Well, you know. All that. I have to go I’m sorry, ask the nurse if you need anything”
It’s with a defeat face that Lia turns herself in the direction of her friends. They all look stunned, but no one know what to say.
“How am I supposed to tell that to her parents?” Lia whispers before realizing something else. “He didn’t even say if we can see her!”
“Let me see if I can find someone.”
Caitlin left to find a nurse and when she comes back almost five minutes later, the three others are in the same disposition.
“I will take you to Y/N, ok Love?”
It’s the same nurse that gave Lia some coffee before, and the Swiss woman just nod, following her in the floors of the hospital. They don’t say anything before being in front of your room.
“Four is a little too much but for now I will let you in. But please, be quiet, ok?”
They all nod, before going in and Lia can’t stop some tears from falling. You seem so small in this bed with all the monitors around you. They change your bandage so it’s not bloody anymore. But you have a black eye and the cocky smile you usually have on your face is gone.
Lia lets herself fall on the chair who is the closest from you, taking her head in her hands.
“The doctor said that she will have like trouble of memories and language when she will wake up” Katie says to the nurse.
She frowns at her, before rolling her eyes.
“Those are some possibilities, but they are very rare and it usually happens when the concussion isn’t healed fast. Y/N had professional who were here for her immediately, the risks are very small. They exist, that’s for sur. But don’t think about it now.”
The nurse’s statements allow Lia to breathe a little better. Her muscles remain very tense when Leah puts a comforting hand on her shoulder.
Lia gets closer to you while the other three are busy warning the people you are closest to, while the nurse (Lydia, like her tag says) left the room after asking them not to stay to long at four people.
“Hey Love” Lia whispers, her chin on the mattress next to your face. “It’s me. I know you are hurt and I’m really sorry. Take the time you need to get better, but please, please, come back to me.”
********
It was hard for your friends to make Lia leaves you, even for some hours and even if someone else is here to have a look on you. She’s terrified that something could happened to you while she’s not here. Or that you wake up all alone in your room. They managed to take her at least once a day off anyway, so that she can take a shower and change her clothes.
Lia is currently sitting on the same chair, making some Sudoku she stole from Leah, when she hears you mumble something. She almost falls of her chair in her precipitation to have a look at you. You already moved a little this morning, but you were still deep asleep.
“Love? Can you hear me?” Lia whispers.
It takes you all your strength to open your eyes, the intensity of the light immediately making your head hurt.
“Lia?”
After that there are some noises and movements around you. Lia called the nurses, and your mother came back running in the room. But Lia never left your hand, and this is what helps you to stay focus.
After Lia helped you to drink some water, the doctor comes to you with his flashlight to look at your eyes. The light makes you groan in pain and Lia mumble something in Swiss-German that the doctor should be happy not to understand.
“How are you feeling Y/N?” he asks you.
“Tired” you mumble hardly.
“Yes, that’s normal. You will be for some more days.”
He keeps talking but you can’t focus anymore. Squeezing very weakly Lia’s hand around yours, you fall asleep again.
Days are passing and you get better, but really slowly. The first days, you can barely open your eyes. You felt more than you saw Lia, your parents and Katie’s presence next to you. It seems like your girlfriend is always here when you open your eyes, looking way to worried for your taste.
With more days, you can stay awake a little bit longer, but you can’t have a big conversation. You listen and look lovingly at Lia, smile at Katie when she tells you real-life training stories through exaggerated gestures and you let your mother washing your hair when they change your bandage, something she probably never have done since you are two.
You did more tests too and the only problems you seem to have now, is a constant need to sleep and difficulty to keep focus. But Lydia told you that it would probably get better with time. The club made a statement about your case, and you let them handle that, trusting them with all your being.
********
“I have a good new, Y/N” sings Lydia when she comes to your room that day. “You can go home today.”
Lia smiles and you frowns. You don’t want to be something difficult to manage to Lia, you are not living together but you know that you will need someone to take care of you for some days.
“Isn’t it too soon?” your mother asks.
“I don’t think so. She has great results for the tests, get better every day and I’m sure that Lia here will take great care of her.”
She winks at you and Lia and you smirk when you see that Lia is blushing a little. Your mother can’t say anything against that, she knows perfectly how much you mean to Lia. And how much she means to you.
“I will come back with the fills to signs, the different prescriptions and everything you will need. Take your time to be ready, yeah?”
You nod and your mother takes her phone from her purse.
“I’m going to call your dad.”
It’s like the first time that you find yourself all alone with Lia. And you take advantage of that to ask her the question that is on your mind.
“Are you sure? It probably will be complicated and with the trainings and all…”
“I am sure, Y/N. Don’t worry, really. I will take great care of you, like Lydia says. We can go to your house if you want… Well, it would probably be better that way, you don’t have stairs like I do.”
You look at her rumble, your head against the cushion. You have your cocky smirk back and Lia realize it immediately of course.
“What?” she asks.
“Nothing. I’m just lucky to have you. And I love you.”
She gives you her shy, beautiful smile back and takes you very softly against her. Even if you only have a head injury, she looks sometimes like she thinks you have broken ribs or something. Which you don’t.
“I love you too.”
She kisses lovingly your forehead, and you tilt your head in your direction, pouting. It makes her roll her eyes but she complied, kissing your lips softly. After that, she put her forehead against yours, looking deep in your eyes.
“You don’t know how much I am relieved that you are ok. I don’t know what I would have done if…”
With a finger on her lips, you make her be silent. She already excuses herself the other day, affirming that your injury was because of her. Because of her feeling that day and you already told her that this is stupid.
“Lia, stop. I am fine and I will be even better thanks to you. Please stop thinking that way.”
You are still very weak to be honest and you will have to take a wheelchair to left the hospital. You slept the journey to go to your house and fall asleep again after taking a proper shower with Lia’s help.
But you will get better and eight weeks after your injury, you are back on the pitch, stronger than ever.
